'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Come on Djimi sort it out fella!

He earns more in a week than I could probably dream to earn in a year, yet Djimi Traore had still been threatened by the bailiffs that his car would be confiscated if he does not pay up the £2,000 he owed in council tax.

What's this all about? Come on Djimi times cannot be that hard fella that you cannot afford a couple of grand, you could always visit your former Liverpool team mate John Arne Riise for a sub if needed...

I am not going to get into this 'footballers get paid too much money' and all this rubbish, blah, blah, blah as you can argue that for most walks of life but with him earning around £80,000 - if not more - per month this would be pocket change to him surely, after all he lives in an apartment at Gunwharf!

He is a craft sod though, as in order to make sure that he did not have his car clamped at the Pompey training ground he got one of his Pompey team mates to drop him to training! For whatever reason he was not paying it, but he is not stupid is he, even though his comical own goal a few years back would suggest otherwise...

Apparently he has agreed to now pay the bill by credit card, after several reminders and a court summons - incredible.

not bad is it! not playing and yet gettin so much money a month, ridiculus, should be payed when played!
PompeyGleamer
A poor attitude to his responisibilities whilst being in a privilaged position. Not good.
storagematt
You don't know their financial situation.
Lysimachus
not being funny but how can a fella that is earning 80 grand - or more - a month not afford to pay a 2 grand bill... he is a crafty sod tho isnt he and not as stupid as he might look, by not taking his own car to training - so in that respect he has gone up in my estimations as a genius...
pompeyrug
haha, if only his genius could show on the field
PompeyGleamer
Pocket change surely? 'When the tax goes unpaid, cos he'd rather get laid, that's Traorrrre'
Tantona
I'm liking the song Tantona! I hope to hear that on Sunday!b
NorthStandDan
fantastic Tantona - if we dont hear that at the fortress on sunday as we stuff city i will be well miffed :-)
pompeyrug
Well done Djimi just like others before ya, you take the ***** by not doing what 99% of the people who pay through the nose with their hard earned cash to come and see you play have to do month in month out. I don't care what your reasons are I have to pay it so why the ***** can't you ...*****er! ... ((Sorry fellas, bit strong I know but this kinda thing really makes me mad - It shows complete and utter contempt to the working may on the street i.e. me !... He's gone so far down in my estimation as a person... I hope he leaves in January))
Chix
Second line to Tntona masterpiece.... 'He just sit's on 'is arse, what a bl00dy great farce, that's Traorrrre'
Chix
i correct myself i we dont hear Tantona's and Chix's combined effort sung at the fortress on sunday i will be miffed... but not as miffed as you mate - you seem very angry... tbh i dont mind traore, i think he has been a better footballer than we expected but only ever saw him as a stop gap, so he wont be here much longer anyway i doubt?
pompeyrug
to be, or not to be, to pay or not to pay, to stay or not to stay, that is the question, for as they say, "all the worlds a stage" - but thats no bl00dy excuse for not paying taxes!and thats it, im out of shakespear quotes...("is this a dagger i see before me" seems unapropriate...)
pompeycarpet
A third verse.... "Hundred grand a week's very hard, so he's paid his tax with his card, that's Traorrrrre'
NinjaTim
A fourth line..... "He's earning a mint but he tells us he's skint, that's Traorrrre'.
NinjaTim
A fifth line,,, 'Djimi says he's no cash, but his car's super-flash, that's Traorrre".
NinjaTim
when the ball hits the sky, you can hear the crowd cry, thats traoooorrre
PompeyGleamer
PG....don't want to dampen your enthusiasm but I think we're trying to keep the lyrics on the theme of his financial/tax situation.
NinjaTim
OK all, here's the full version, with acknowledgment to Tantona and Chix...... "He plays for Pompey and he’s richer than me, that’s Traorrre... When the tax goes unpaid, cos he'd rather get laid, that's Traorrrre.. He just sits on 'is arse, what a bl00dy great farce, that's Traorrrre... Hundred grand a week's very hard, so he paid his tax with his card, that's Traorrrrre.... He's earning a mint but he tells us he's skint, that's Traorrrre.... Djimi says he's no cash, but his car's super-flash, that's Traorrre.... He’s a top bloke but he claims that he’s broke, that’s Traorrre.... Sasha, give him a loan or they’ll take back his home , that’s Traorrre."
NinjaTim
ahhh, I see where your going tim, anyway I wont be singing that song, because he doesnt get into the squad anymore! I dont go reserve games
PompeyGleamer
i like tim - good work mate :-)
pompeyrug
Cheers Rug.....altogether now!!!!.....
NinjaTim
haha, on a seriosusley more so point, i like traore, when we were struggling derfensively in january, he did teh job nessacily, but i can see him going im afraid, perhaps a relegation battling team like bolton derby or even boro with all the injuryts they have
