Kranjcar the main man for October

Kranjcar the main man for October

Niko Kranjcar was Pompey's the player of the month for October! Not my vote, yours - although these findings from pompeyrug's poll are thoughts that I completely share.

I have - as has Harry Redknapp and so many of you - waxed lyrical on Kranjcar recently, so it was little wonder he was voted the star performer from last month as he was absolutely fantastic.

He came with a big reputation last year, and after initially finding it a little difficult to settle he worked on his fitness and his all-round game to become one of the most complete midfielders in the premier league.

Kranjcar has been fantastic, but he will get even better, he is a midfielder that is destined for stardom.

What the poll asked - 'Pompey's player of the month for October?'

How you voted - Niko Kranjcar 45%, Benjani 24%, David James 9%, Sylvain Distin 7%, Glen Johnson 3%, Papa Bouba Diop 3%, Sean Davis 3%, Sulley Muntari 3%, Sol Campbell 1%, Hermann Hreidarsson 1%, Other 1%

Current Poll - We managed to pick up 16 points out of the last 18 on offer, could we do the same - or better - from the next 6 games.

Had Benjani not missed the injury time penalty against West Ham we would have won all 6 of our previous 6 games, but what are we expecting from the next 6, this is want pompeycarpet wants to know with this - 'how many points will Pompey get in there next 6 games?' Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.

pompeyrug- you told me that you remember when i said about niko, than i told you about Eduardo da silva, now he is in Arsenal, and about Luka Modric, he is still in Dinamo Zagreb, but he is 21 years old, he is perfect... this winter he will came in arsenal or chelsea who knows maybe in portsmouth(my wish)..he is probably better than niko and he is regulary in National team

You're right, your choice not mine. Yes he is doing better but not sure on the best player in October. No one stood out at Fulham & Wigan, we did a good job, held firm at the back & scored we needed it. West Ham was stale, Blackburn was poor to average & that leaves Newcastle, where quite a few played fantastically. Am I missing something?

andycroat28, yep you did say eduardo was one to watch - i must admit i thought he was fantastic for croatia but worried about his ability to adapt to the premier league, as with respect the croatian league isnt the same level - and his goals rate over there was amazing... but he seems to be doing the business with arsenal too. i will keep a look out for this modric fella.

storagematt, in the games that we were good to average i still thought he stood out - newcastle was in november tho dont forget :-) all were stale against west ham but tbh i thought he was the best player on the park against blackburn when we were poor, he was one of only a couple that came out with any credit - but like i say i thought he was the best player...

Hats off to Niko, he's been classy in this run of performances and is comfortably keeping Matty T out of the side at the moment. Who needs D'Alessandro eh?
