FFC - Short Survey On Goals Missed

Dear football fan

Goals, goals, goals - great to score, awful to concede.

Some are majestic, some are fluky and some are dreadful, but how often do fans miss seeing a goal and what's the cause if they do? We're running a short survey to find out, it's just 4 questions long and will only take a minute to complete.

If you're having trouble with the link simply visit http://www.footballfanscensus.com and take part in the 'Missing Goals' survey.

Many thanks for your support

I nearly missed Matty 40+ yarder at home to Everton last season. I was in a queue getting a ticket for the away game at Sheff Utd, got into the Fratton End , took my usual place & within a couple of minutes, bang. I would have gone mental if I'd missed that. Nope can't recall missing a Pompey goal in over 30 years of watching.

Me too never missed a goal in 48 years. Have left early on occasions but only when we were playing so badly there was absolutely no chance of us scoring. For example Man City home - HR last game before he left - 3-1 down cold and wet. Got home before final whistle i think!!

That was the last game I missed. Best Mate got married, I was best man. Typical to plan your wedding in the football season before the fixture list comes out. No consideration for others.

I'd have gone to the game storagematt. Nor sleet nor rain shall stop me, and I'm talking about friends here.

I can't remember missing a Pompey goal - I stay to the last no matter what the score is - I have come close a few times though having been in the food queue at half time for 15 minutes and not wanting to miss my pie ! ... I bet a few missed Kanu's goal on Wednesday though... The Fratton End was emptying long before he pulled one back...

Ive missed a couple of goals, I dont leave early, its just that I always go down to get my food and drink when the half time is over, saves queing up. : )

ok, it wasnt a goal - but last day of the season, and we put the ball in the back of the net, that would have got us into europe - and someone stood up in front of me, so i missed it!

i too really cannot remember ever missing a pompey goal - and never leave early, i was slouched deep into my seat arms foulded shaking my head and muttering at what i had just seen on wednesday night when kanu scored, the only words i uttered 'what the f-ing point now' :-)

i did however miss dave kitsons goal in the 7-4... my brother was getting us drinks, so i had turned round to see if he was coming and before i knew it they had scored - well the ball was just going into the net, so technically i didnt miss it. caught the replay on the screen though...

i dont know why but my dad always seems to miss goals, i am talking him about tem, and he turns around and says, what happened!

best quote from a friend after the newcastle game: "pompey won 4-1? i thought it was 1-0!"

I missed Pedro's 2nd against Man City - the one that kick-started the great escape. I never leave early - except that one time! It was my girlfriend's birthday and had promised I'd get to her party back in London on time. I think the game was actually a bit delayed, but watched what I thought must have been the last few minutes stood by the corner, and then ran up Goldsmith road to get my train from Fratton. I head the cheers as I was legging it up the road and didn't know whether to be gutted I'd missed it, or ecstatic that we'd got a winner!

no way mate - what a goal to miss... i was listening to the game on the radio and i went wild, like a kid at christmas i was - from that moment on i knew we were staying up, but also knew from that moment on we were not only staying up but we were going places, i really did...
pompeyrug
...... Rug polidsh off your crystal ball - I wanna put a score on with the bookies re where we will finish this year, I could be with some soothsaying:) - NorthstanDan (great name) there's always a women to blame, ain't there ! (sorry ladies) ... i hope the party was good. I still dig out the goal on youtube from time to time it was a cracker ... and meant sooo much didn't it.
