Bitter taste of defeat!

Bitter taste of defeat!

Not since his birth on September 7th has my little nephew Reece known the bitter taste of defeat, well until Wednesday that was - some 7 games and almost 2 months later this finally happened.

He has not had a bad run has he, very few of us can say that we have followed Pompey through such an unbeaten run from the beginning of our support can we? Clearly the little fella is too young to realise or understand what is going on, but one day I will explain this to him with great pleasure.

I am not taking anything for granted - as you never can tell - but with a potential 'golden era' being entered into I would hope that his tenure as a Pompey fan will yield far less defeats and disappointments than my early days did.

I hate losing, I am getting worse with age, not better and soon enough little Reece will see his Uncle Rug in this 'match day' mode and understand, no doubt finding my actions and reactions highly amusing.

Here is to hopefully another 7 games - at least - until our next defeat eh fellas!

Although to be honest I am not overly convinced we will get anything from Newcastle this week, as we do not usually. Do not forget if you have not already made your predictions in the Pompey predictions league on this match do it here.

Newcastle away, will take a draw. Can't afford to give Owen & Martins the space & time we gave midweek to Blackburn.

like i say hopefully reece will have better fortunes following pompey than i did - well most of us really - in our early days... he has started well, hopefully his luck can rub off again and we can end our newcastle voodoo. i would happily take a point, but i do have this sneaky thought that it might just be our day...

mendes looks like he will get another chance, in all honesty he hasnt taking his last two, so he has to make the most of this - altho haing said that bouba diop is suspended for city so chances are he will play that match too, so he will have what looks at least 2 more games to prove himself... i really think that taylor showed enough on wednesday to show that he is a more than able replacement for hermann.

Gleamer - Thatcher is at Charlton at the mo and other than the Scriubs it's the best place for him ... and least in the Coke league he can't do any damage to our players.. Rug - Reece is still lucky for us in the league mate.. he's yet to see us lose in the race for europe ... has your bro sorted his passport out yet ??
