Harry raps Benjani (AUDIO)

Harry raps Benjani (AUDIO)

Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp says his counterpart is the happier of the two bosses as dropping points at home is never easy unless it is against the top 4.

The 60-year old, speaking in his post-match press conference, revealed his unhappiness at Benjani's decision to take the penalty, as Niko Kranjcar and Sulley Muntari were the two designated penalty takers on the pitch.

Certainly sounds like it to me. Niko was the man to take it for me as me has no nerves as he showed in Hong Kong.

Niko & Herman can take a great penalty. A bit gutted for Matty who has a cool head. Time to forgive Benji, his goals has given more points than the 2 we lost yesterday. I'm more angry with the fact he was allowed to take it.

the funny thing was, he tried to do a stumbled run up, to put off the keeper, but I think it put him off even more!

i look at the portsmouth team, and see matty taylor, hermen hreiderson, niko kranjcar, sulley muntari, i would even feel confident with a few others taking penalties. if we were in the FA cup final, on penalties, i would back us to win, against any team, any day. and yet, we have missed 2/3 penalties in the league, costing us 4 points. that would put us 3rd - why do we do so badley???

if benji isnt the designated penalty taker he shouldnt be taking them. but maybe 'arry shouldnt have been so public with his rollocking of benji? simply truth is benji shouldnt have taken it - the more i see it the worse it gets, but its done, we have to now move on...

the problem is, like carpet said, we have a great team of pen takers, you look at liverpool, who consistently win penalty shoot outs, in semi finals of champions leagues, in finals of champion league and the FA cup and we beat them!! So if we can beat them we shouldnt be nervous when a penalty comes along, we should be calling it a certain goal.

I still think for 'arry to say that it was up to Sulley and Nico to decide shows a little indicision - If he had nominated one (not both) of them then the situation would never have happened - Surely there should be an order depending on who is one the pitch say, Taylor, Krunchy, Sulley, etc.. Although it's a bit harsh, I blame 'arry & Tone for these two dropped points. Benji should never have taken it, but if there was indecision/disagreement on the pitch he was the one who showed the bottle and was willing to take it, the fact that it was a poor penalty is somewhat irrelevant... although if it had gone in we'd all be happy and it would have never have been an issue!

i think sulley is the best option, if he gets it on target, its a goal, with the ammount of power he puts into it!

What's done is done. We're still in a fantastic position, given the games we've had, so I'm not grumbling too much. Although I hope it doesn;t dent Benji's confidence. But does anyone know what Sol's role as captain was in the whole incident? If there's any indecision on the pitch, shouldn't he sort it out?
