Toddy's career hangs in the balance?

Former Pompey striker Svetoslav Todorov has injured his knee - an injury that might ultimately end his career this time?

I know he is no longer a Pompey player, but a player of the status that he had when he played for Pompey is not easily forgotten is he, so I have still looked out for how he has been doing with Charlton this season.

To be honest I did not want him to leave when he did, as although others might not have agreed I still felt that he had something to offer us, but much like Richard Hughes might do, moving on was in his careers best interests - but it was latterly revealed that the club did not much try to keep him anyway, well if what he said after leaving was true.

He damaged his cruciate knee ligament in 2003, which basically finished his Pompey career, as although he still played his part in keeping us up in 2005/06 he never really played much after this injury did he. Now he has done the other knee, rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament, which will need reconstructive surgery.

I am absolutely gutted for the fella, he deserves much more than this and this is such a cruel blow for him.

I think he only signed a yearlong contract with Charlton, so I doubt very much he will ever play for them again. Now serious question marks must surrounded his playing future full stop - it took him a couple of years to return last time, so with him a few years older at 29 maybe this could be the end of the road for him?

Good luck to him in his rehabilitation, I really do hope that he can return again - but if not then I am sure that each and every one of us will wish him all the best for whatever his future may hold.

This is very sad news. Lets hope he can prove everybody wrong and play again. A Pompey hero.

Yep, I was devastated for him when I read this yesterday.....how many times is it gonna happen before he inevitably hangs up his boots? A great great shame.

I do hope it is not the end for Toddy, he is such a nice bloke who has had a real run of bad luck to put it mildly. He was a loyal servant to us who helped us achieve our current status, and he had the ability to score goals in any game he played in. If he had been a couple of yards quicker he would have still been involved with Pompey i am sure. Fingers crossed for him and i do hope he comes back and scores more goals before he retires from the game.

Gutted for him.

Yes I read the news of Toddy's latest injury with great sadness. Let us all hope he can be back playing again in the future - if ever someome deserved a bit of luck it was him.

Let's hope it's not over for him.

Truely gutted for the bloke - Wish him well but in reality I think it's the inevitably conclusion to his career - He'll be well remembered around these parts though, helped get us to where we are now.
