How many Benjani's!

How many Benjani's!

Following the 7-4 win over Reading to mark the 11 goals the Pompey Store offered 11% off all goods - as well as giving free name and number shirt printing if you opted for No.25 Benjani.

I took advantage of this offer - to be honest I only bought my shirt at that particular time to get it with Benjani printed on the back, had it only have been the 11% off I probably would not have got it - unless it could have been with free No.2 Primus printing! - but as it had his name on the back included I thought 'I'll have come of that'.

No doubt many of you also took advantage of this offer too, so it will be amazing to see just how many 'Benjani's' turn up at Fortress Fratton for our next match with West Ham on Saturday.

Benjani has always been a crowd favourite with the Pompey fans, this crowd favourite is now making everyone in this country look up and take notice of him - the leagues top goalscorer, who would have thought that, long may this continue.

Its a credit to the man that he is currently leading the goalscoring charts, and all the hard work that the coaching team and Benjy have put in appears to have worked.Mind you Muntari put in a lovely cross for the goal didnt he. If Benjy could get up to 15 goals this season that would be a real bonus for us and we just need Kanu to get the same. We all know Benjy works hard but to start to finish with confidence is a real bonus.

If he keeps up his form, it certainly solves a worry during the ACoN. If he scores 15 this year, surely this would make him complete as a striker?

Nice headache when Kanu is fit. Can the 2 play upfront together?

'He comes from Zimbabwe, he's scored again today' that'll be a chant you hear on Saturday I'm sure ... The guys a legend and it's great to see him at the top of the premiership scoring charts (how many years have we had to wait for that ?) He'll rack in with 15 at least I'm sure, but as for Kanu Owens, I think you might be dreaming a little .. we will be very lucky if he gets 10... which I doubt

tbh i would still rather see benji and nuge as a front two pairing - we didnt really see much of this in pre season but they looked okay together didnt they... i reckon nuge and benji would be a great pairing, but the lone striker is working at the moment isnt it, so why change things...

It seems to me the lone striker route is not really the way to go at home and is yet to be really proven against i.e. we have won against a top team. I agree with you about Nugent and Benji but ultimately i think HR will put Kanu back in with Benji. although that may change once kanu has played his requisite number of games.

Chix i have to say that if benjani can get 15 goals why cant Kanu achieve this as well ? Kanu has done it at the top level and still has the knack of being in the right place.

Lots of headaches to come in team selection through the team. Nugent must get a game or two, Kanu is HRs favourite, Mendes is back on Saturday if he plays well who makes way for Davis? And that is without mentioning Lauren, Linvoy, Taylor...........

I hope he goes for Pedro, he looks like the natural replacement for Sean, and Hughsey is suspended for his sending off in the reserves. I hope that Pedro does himself proud as he is desperate to get back in the first team, as will Matty when he gets the chance.

mendes looks hungry doesnt he - the last 2 matches that he has come on in he has made an instant impact. you can see he wants to play. 'arry has plenty of slection headaches doesnt he - but only of the good kind... well from his point of view anyway, he would rather have too many than too few to select from wouldnt he.

Evans - Right back or right midfield?

Drew Talbot and Adam Buxton are fit but Gareth Evans continues to fill in at right back. Should this change? If so where would it leave the battle between Evans and Carl Baker?
