Lauren could return to Spain?

According to The News January could see Lauren return to Spain when the New Year sales open.

His former club Mallorca - along with Real Betis - are reportedly interested in the right back who has been plagued by injury since he signed from Arsenal last January and he now finds it hard to command even a squad place.

I really like Lauren but with Glen Johnson the preferred right back - and he has been very impressive since his return, impressive enough for me to write an article on the mater, which I will share soon - and Lauren looking far from impressive in a right midfield role he could be a sacrificial lamb, with Harry Redknapp admitting there might be one or two.

To be honest I would love to keep the squad fully intact, just adding the missing pieces of the jigsaw in January but if sacrifices had to be made then 'Ralph' would be one that I would part with if it meant keeping others.

Lauren came expecting first team football. I dont know why he hasnt played at right back more often, as i think he is a great player - but if he isnt getting the games, then i can see him as one of the guys that could leave us. him, along with (unfortunatly) matty taylor, and pedro mendes.

Agree with Carpet would be very sad to see Ralph go. He looks so good on the ball and is defensively sound BUT we can only have one Right Back. If only we were in Europe there would be enough games to keep the players not currently in the Prem team happy.

I agree with both of you, Ralph to me should start, Glen should be kept for the future. i do have this feeling that Harry does have is favourites, for example, Mendes is an amazing footballer, but is kept out by Sulley and Diop, who although have shown some quality, havent really secured there place through quality, but because harry has been ''chasing'' sulley for a couple of years, and hes always likes diop, it seems that they will never be squad players. this applys to kanu, as he always chums him, but the ammount of stories of negativitvity from kanu is too much for him to be a favourite with me!! then theres kranjcer, great player but to me, noone can replace matt taylor, but it seems harry prefers kranjcer, why?? i have a suspicion that taylor wanted to leave in january, and now is simply waiting for january.

lol, sorry bout last bit, i think though that matty wanted to leave, and so harry isnt stating him

He's in my Fantasy League team that's why he's having a dreadful season! I'm a feckin jinx1

Difficult to keep them all happy. as we got Ralph on a free I expect he is on apretty high wage. Noe & Linvoy could cover right back. With the African tin pot in January, we will need every Brit & european going. I still prefer Matty to Nico and not too chuffed to see Pedro sidelined.

ralph has quality and experience but this isnt really helping him too much and as said if losing him meant maybe keeping someone else that i thought was more important in the long term i would make this sacrifice - ideally i would like to keep them all tho of course...

Lauren is class and has the best nickname....Ralph....brilliant!!!! It would be a shame to see him go but if a player of his ability isn't in the starting line-up then it's understandable. It's a problem of the modern game, keeping a squad of, say, 22 players happy when they all should have the ability to command place in the starting line-up.
NinjaTim
only liverpool cxan keep all 22 players happy...but then the fans go mad at the rotation policy...

Lauren's a real class player and i was delighted to see him here but the problem is he is terribly injury prone, that is why the Arse Wenger agreed to let him go. I think he will go and we could live with that in the short term, but i sadly think pompeycarpet could be right about Pedro and Taylor and for the quality squad we all agree we need that would be a disaster.

if they dont get much game time then they prob will look to leave in january - but my real concern is that they will be sold to finance this striker that 'arry wants but we would have sold 3 top class footballers for the 1 striker then... altho you could argue that we would have got diop, johnson and this striker so 3 out 3 in...
