This time last Saturday Pompey were 2-1 up against Reading, with the half time toilet break and refreshments being taken - six quid plus for three bottles of Ribena and a Yorkie, we were just glad they were wearing masks! - little did we know what a 2nd half we were in for, but what a fantastic Saturday that was - now I personally have had another today!
England went into the Rugby world cup quarter final with our old foe the Aussies as such underdogs it was unreal, few gave us the chance both in this country or in France - and to be honest neither did I - but lightening struck twice and we managed to beat the Aussies 12-10 to march onto the semi finals.
Absolutely amazing, this of course clearly does not top Pompey's incredible 7-4 win last week, but it comes close to it. And to think the South African's battered us just a couple of weeks back.
England, the current world champions are able to keep this tag - at least for a while long, now we wait for the winner of the New Zealand and France match, taking place tonight. The Kiwi's will almost certainly be strong for us - surely? - so the French would be my preferred opponents, but bring on whoever they are.
Yep, I know this is a football site - for Pompey at that - but those of us that are English must all be basking in this glory! I love beating the Aussies at anytime, today was no exception but perhaps it meant even more after the build-up to this match.
It is a great start to the weekend, I think mine will carry on with a few more jars today and then to cap it 3 points at Fulham would be perfect - and we will get them too!
PLAY UP POMPEY! - AND THE ENGLAND RUBGY TEAM!
