Vital Pompey competition

To celebrate Benjani's hat-trick in the magnificent 7 victory over Reading last weekend Vital Pompey is giving you the chance to win a piece of authentic football memorabilia signed by the great man - to see the item in question click here.

All you have to do to stand a chance of winning this prize, which is a free to enter competition is to be a Vital Pompey member by Sunday 14th October - so if you have not joined up yet, do so now by registering here - and leave a comment below and/or in the forum thread here.

We will no doubt go off at a tangent in our debate, that is fine but to get things going the simple subject to start with will be:

'Benjani's hat-trick was surely the most popular hat-trick ever witnessed at Fratton Park - would you agree?'

All Vital Pompey members that comment will then have their names put in a hat and the first randomly drawn out name will be the winner, I will then contact you and send you the prize - it is that simple!

The item comes courtesy of - which is my 'day job' - well at least it was until I took over this site, with this now seemingly taking over as I love it so much! I have been in the football memorabilia field for many years so all items are of the highest quality and are 100% authentic.

For your chance to win comment below - or within the forum thread - on the topic in question or whatever subject we hit on, then once you comment you are in the draw.

Good luck.

competition rules

must beone of the best ever, based soley on the competition,. to put past 3 goals against any preimership team, as im sure pompey4me will tell you, is not easy!!!
Hey carpet, you'd be mad to think............
is no one else interested in winning this free prize - did i mention it was free! even though you won a previous competition russ you can have a go again... unless people have entered via the forum, ive not checked that yet...
It's all happening in the forum .... I guess people are clicking on the picture link seeing what's on offer (great prize Rug by the way) and posting in there.
If you're reading this and have not yet registered why not ? - There's nothing to lose and you'll be entering into a totally free competition and joining Pompey's best fan site where you can contribute as much or a little whenever you want .. or not at all - A lot of members just log on and read the news and views. I've been a member for about three months and can honestly say it's a hassle free place for Pompey fans to chew the fat... Come on in it only takes a few minutes to sign up.
cheers mate - yep its a combination of both isnt it, so long as people post on one or the other they have a chance to win it, which you now do too :)
This place makes the week tick by quicker so that it doesnt seem so long between games!
I still love the four goals by the Yak at Fratton on the last day of the season against the Boro. It was a great end of season team performance especially after the struggle we had been involved in.
Sorry for me the best, THE BEST BENJANI GOAL EVER EVER EVER EVER go on russ once more ith feeling EEEEEVVVVVVVVVVVER. was the goal against Wigan that started the fight back that kept us up.
sorry chaps one of the best days of my life, then meetinmg the pompey team at manchester airport, laughing with the relegated brummie, still brings a tear to my eyes
moving on to best goal ever? ok...well, for a plain shot, it has to go to matty taylor - everton or sunderland will tell you that. for timing? Mendes goals against man city.
now you have opened up a whole new can of worms carpet...
can you just clarify russ - benji's goal against wigan was his best ever right? :)
All Hat tricks are great when scored by a Pompey Player. I would just love to see it against Chelsea. Still it was great for the lad, he really is a tryer. Oh and if I win don't be scared to post it to OZ as I can provide a UK address. I will check out your site as I really do like memorabilia.
has anyone ever scored a hat trick of own goals? that would be going for one of the funniest hat tricks ever - even if it wasnt for/against pompey.
i'm sure Noel Blake was getting a home goal a game
A NEW CATEGORY!!!!! MOST INFLUENTIAL GOAL EVER i think that would go to Pedro Mendes for the first of his two crackers against Man City
there, you see i would say mendes' 2nd against city...
pompeyrug that influenced our staying up - without that we would not be where we are now, mendes wouldnt be here nor would half the players we have.
half the playors we have now? who WOULD we have kept?kranjcar is to classy for the championship, so is matty taylor, mendes, davis, all our new playors wouldnt have come...kanu would have stayed at west brom, there would be no jamo, no sol, only pamerot might have stayed ;-) and linvoy (cos he is a legend), and maybe richard hughes.
It does not bear thinking about does it, if we had not stayed up that year, where would we be now? Languishing in the championship and having to make do with second rate players, or cheap foreign imports, and i mean cheap. Lets hope that never happens to us, and we can continue to go from strength to strength.
it never will happen will it, we are here to stay! im not saying we are going to win the title but i have - what i feel is - a realistic optimisum that maybe, just maybe in my lifetime we might do this, something that even a year or so ago again i would never have seriously entertained such a thought...
i would not say we were definatley here to stay - anything could happen. Man U could come in, and buy our good playors, 'arry could retire, and we may not find a decent replacement, sacha may leave, ourstadium may not get planning permission. everything looks good know, but we are talking about pompey...
Quite right carpet there are only 20 Premier League places (until Sepp Blatter says 18) and three go every year. Normally one of those to go is a bit of a suprise caused by sudden lack of form etc. At the moment we are strong no real injuries and playing well but after International break who knows? I really hope not but never say never.
We are playing well and the new players have settled in really well, with any luck we would have got three or four against Fulham, who have not improved on last year.
Wise words Eastneydave and Carpet...I think the moment we forget who we are or where we have come from then we are on a slippery slope - little by little we must consolidate but not get carried away - If we can build on solid foundations we can stay put, if we get complacent or greedy then we are on a hiding to nothing...
nah i'm qpr BUT DID YOU ALSO HEAR THAT QPR FINALLY WON A GAME THEY BEAT NORWICH 1-0 come on you r'ssssssssssssss
ozanne park rangers
The tottenham rejects are doing you proud. good Luck!
these tottenham rejects are showing that they are infact not rejects at all arent they...
mendes showed that last season, this year, it is davis's turn...somehow i doubt paramot will make the same break though...BUT - mendes could leave come january. if he wasnt content sitting on the bench at spurs, why would he be at pompey? (other than we are amazing)
We will take those other Spurs rejects oof you soon that is Bent, worth 16 million of anyones money!!! and Defoe, plus your keeper as backup to Jammo and Jamie, Huddlestone was dumped on the bench last week wasnt he, so we will have him as well.
Just want to say thanks to all you fellas for making this particular ex-Gooner feel at home here. Going to look at your other site now Rug as I'm an avid collector of footie memorabilia.
we always do make the new ones welcome - but then again so do we the older timers too! happy hunting mate, hopefully i can help you out with something, altho if you cannot find what you want just ask - might i add that any vital pompey member will of course get a reduced rate for anything you might buy...
