Benjani's 2nd goal the favourite

Benjani's 2nd goal the favourite

Benjani's 2nd goal, as well as Pompey 2nd was my favourite of the lot against Reading! Not my vote, yours - although these findings from Lysimachus' poll are thoughts that I do not entirely share to be honest.

In terms of the actual quality of the goal Benjani's 2nd was probably the best of the match - although looking at all the goals Dave Kitson's probably challenged it most of all - but it depends on how you are viewing it in terms of favourite goal?

Quality wise as said it probably was the best, however if it is a sentimental favourite, which is how I was viewing it then goal no.6 - the hat-trick goal - was my favourite and that is the way I voted. Seeing him score a hat-trick is one of the most memorable moments ever for me as I cannot think of too many more deserving player than Benjani - and as previously stated it must be the most popular hat-tricks ever seen at Fratton Park?

What a game though! I still do not tire of seeing any of the goals and still get a buzz when I do, now where is that DVD with the goals on it…

What the poll asked - Favourite goal against Reading?

How you voted - Benjani (Goal No. 2) 50%, Benjani (Goal No. 6) 15%, Kranjcar (Goal No. 7) 12%, Benjani (Goal No. 1) 6%, Hreidarsson (Goal No. 5) 5%, Muntari (Goal No. 10) 5%, Christ even the Reading goals looked sharp 4%, Davis (Goal No. 9) 3%

Current Poll - When September started with the terrible display against Arsenal - not taking anything away from them though as they were fantastic - who would have thought it would have ended the way it did.

It was quite a month was it not and overall we have seen some very memorable performances, both as a team and individually but who stands out the most - this is want pompeyrug wants to know with this - 'Pompey's player of the month for September?' Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.

Correct. All Pompey goals are great but on Saturday this was the best. Good call.

Kitson + Hunt had an open goal, while the other two Reading goals were deflections. And out of all the goals in the game, Benjani showed some individual effort in goal no. 2.

kitson might have had an open goal but altho im no expert he finished it really well making it look alot easier than it was... benji's 2nd goal was fantastic, his run was brilliant, the skill in it and the finish were superb but i still personally class his hat-trick goal as my own favourite goal from the match - it was a special, special goal that meant the world to him...

well...benjis second was techniqly the best. his third was special becuase nbo-one thought he would ever get a hatrick - although 2 other goals i though were above these two. Firstly, kranjcars. although nt a great goal, it capped a perfect game for him. BUT, the goal that got my vot was hriederson. it was so outrageus, that distin shold go for a run down the left flank, and even more outrageus that hreiderson be waiting for the (inevitable?) cross. I just never expected 2 defenders to link up and scor elike tht.;

We are like Brazil, anyone of our multi-skilled world class players can score, why even our keeper is capable of scoring. Did you see Robinson last night, Spurs are struggling and he is a big part of the reason. Benjy was brilliant and his second goal was marvellous, if it was Tevez, Rooney or Torres we would have had it rammed down our throats all weekend

0 it was, i think there was a tint mention in some random paper that portsmouth won at the weekend...
02/10/2007 21:03:00
I voted Benji's third, not cos it was the best goal(clearly his second was the best) but because it meant so much to him and us fans that he scored his first pompey hatrick.

good man - thats how i went too mate, i never tire of seeing it ive watched it a hundred times i reckon!

Rug & 4me I'm with you for exactly the same reason, to see his first Hat-trick was for me probably the highlight of the day, a day in which there were many highlights ! That said I also think that Carpets point about Herman was spot on ..... although the Iceman is prone to scoring a few, averages a couple a season throughout his career and one in ten for his country ...not bad for a full back eh ..... but I had not idea he was 34 .

great goal the right choice
