Redknapp after more attacking play

Redknapp after more attacking play

We all want to be entertained and anyone that tells you that they were not entertained on Saturday is a liar, this is what the business we call football is all about and as he told the Pompey Site this is something that Harry Redknapp is encouraging more of: 'I think people want to see teams play football. I was delighted with our performance, we scored seven goals and could have scored an awful lot more.

'If you've got good players you need to let them play. I watched Barcelona play the other day and they had a forward line of Messi, Henry, Ronaldinho and Deco.

'I don't know where they were playing - I don't think they knew - but they ripped Lyon apart. It was fantastic to watch'.

Clearly we will not be seeing that amount of goals scored every week in a match involving Pompey, the chances are we will never again see that amount of goals ever again, but the signs are encouraging that we could see some highly entertaining football in the months ahead.

We have a squad of players that are all highly talented and the players on the field at the weekend were full so full of confidence you could literally see it oozing out of them.

Yep it is nice to keep clean sheets, but I would forgo these for great entertainment more often than not and would also not mind us conceding goals, as if we play to our true potential we can and will score even more, the future - and not just because of Saturday's match - is so promising for this fantastic football club, I am looking forward to every minute.

The defence needs to be solid before we go gun ho. On Saturday Reading got very lucky and we were not set up right defensively. Sort that out and who knows.

We are capable of scoring goals, lots of goals, go for it Harry, if we had a back four and a decent keeper who knows what we could do !! Sorry lads only joking i wouldnt swop any of them. Drogba would be nice, and Jermaine is on the bench again tonight,

Kranky and Utaka on wings. They definately contributed to the mass-attack on saturday.

Oh my god - more of the same my heart couldn't take it - I'd be dead before half time. Seriously though if you ask any fan anywhere in the country if they would rather win 5-2 than 3-0 I reckon they'd plump for the 5-2 most days of the week - Remember Kevin Keegan's Newcastle - They worked on the basis that if they scored more than the opposition that's ok ... Who can argue against that.... 6-3 against Fulham anyone ?

Fulham have been scoring for fun & letting them by the bucket full, well they were before the 0-0 at Chelski. Should be an interesting game for Sunday afternoon viewing. We owe them one for the draw at their place last season.

No Crawley return for Tubbs

Tubbs doesn't have a future at Pompey, he's on the transfer-list but offloading him could be difficult given his wages. These wouldn't be anywhere within Crawley's reach.

Pitfalls of Sheffield Wednesday loanee returning

As Catlin put it 'the gamble' of aiming sign Sheffield Wednesday loanee Lavery has to be one Pompey fans understand. It isn't as cut and dried as saying 'he's a free agent' sign him!

Lassie coming home...well sort of!

A-box-to-box player, capable of defensive duties, with ability to burst forward with intent to make things happen - Diarra is Pompey's man and wants an England return. I jest of course!

Will pair stay at Fratton?

It's been made (more than once) clear by Catlin Pompey want Davies & Hollands to stay. Both (also more than once) have said they want to this - deals have to be right for all concerned.
