Things do not get any easy

If anyone is expecting Pompey's difficult start to the season to get any easier this weekend then they could be in for a rude awakening.

The match with Blackburn on Sunday is a match that I am not looking forward to at all and as positive as I have been against all the other teams that we have faced this season, believing that we could go to places like Arsenal and Chelsea and win, let alone draw, I will most definitely settle for a point on Sunday.

A lot of people seem to have an opinion on Blackburn, but whatever that is the fact that they play some really good football with some classy players cannot be questioned. They have already held Arsenal and Chelsea to draws this season and are on a run of something like 14 or 15 matches unbeaten I believe that stretches back to last season, whereas we have not won away all year, not since West Ham on Boxing Day 2006!

Yep, we could win but at this point in time I would settle for a point, with that being my prediction - if you have not already made your predictions in the Pompey predictions league on this match do it here.

I say it does not get any easier, well it does after this match as we then have a run of 7 league and cup matches, that we could, some might say should be expecting to win, particularly the matches at Fortress Fratton against Reading, West Ham and Man City.

We have endured a difficult start to the season, but the Arsenal game aside apart from the odd spell we have not really played that bad in any of our matches, so overall - although we probably deserved a few more points - I am happy with the start that we have made, which we should be really pushing on from very soon, all being well starting with a point this weekend against a tough Blackburn side.

Well after last seasons pathetic 3-0 drubbing, could have been a lot worse, we will need to up our game massively & hope to scrape a draw.

i have been very optimisitc all season so far about our chances of winning every match we have played, but in many ways i think this could be our toughest so i am looking at a point as a very good point should we get it... get this match out of the way then we should start winning a few on the spin, if not then we could be in trouble!

We cant do any worse than we did last season when we lied down and let them make us look like mugs. We are more than capable of giving them a game, so lets hope we go out and prove that we can perform away from home.

honesty, this is going to be the second match that i predict a pompey loss!!! - number of reasons: Mentally, i think we are weak - we put in a good performance, and think we are invincible (man u-watford last season) - and then crash and burn. secondly, Blackburn are a side that sound like a bad side (...its just a name...like wigan...) - and are not, so we will underestimate them, and finaly. We havnt won at home this season, and i dont see that changing. Blackburn are agressive, and are on form - and will, contary to what all the top 4 sides fans might say, be our toughest game so fr - i mean it!

i have voted for 13 out of 16, i think 12 is more likely but we need the 13 cos as i banged on before io never really bought into that big four thing, we didnt beat derby either and we need to get some of that there momentumn stuff going or we will have had it prior to our traditional january slump. I am dreading the return trip from blackburn like i did almost every away game last season

Never liked Blackburn, which colours my prediction for this game, along with the theory that if you play top class opposition for a string, it tends to rub off. 1-0 for the good guys on Sunday.

Blackburn could be tired and downhearted from their trip to Greece -Their back four looked suspect at times on Thursday so if we hit them hard from the start and can grab a goal then as long as our midfield work hard and our back four remain solid we haccve a chance... but I do agree, this won't be an easy fixture
