Utaka tops Actim Index

It has been brought to my attention by russellm, who has just returned to France, that John Utaka was toping the Actim Index.

With Utaka a star name in France clearly more interest has been paid in this than it had in England, although he is starting to become a star name in England after his highly impressive start to the season.

I looked into this information and sure enough Utaka is toping this Actim Index not only in terms of the top midfielder but also the top performer full stop with 108 points, 1 point ahead of Frank Lampard in both areas.

Some may say big deal - but these Actim Index Stats do play a major role in football these days, with them being something that players, managers and coaches of all teams study and look at, as they are statistical proof of how well players are playing, particularly in certain areas of their game.

How does the Actim Index work?

These are the official Actim stats explained, as shown on the English Premier League Actim Index website.

'Actim Stats are a collection of team, player and match statistics.

'They are derived from all the actions that take place during a match, including goals, shots on target, corners, fouls, offsides, passes, tackles, blocks and clearances. The raw data can be used to generate a wide range of tables and statistics such as player profiles, team and player head-to-heads and form guides.

'PA Sport gathers match data for every Barclays English Premier League, Coca-Cola Championship and Scottish Premier League game.

'The data is gathered by two methods - real-time match analysis and the study of video footage. The real-time analysis is conducted by ex-professional footballers that report on action at the grounds as it happens. Further, more detailed analysis is obtained by studying videos of the matches'.

So it is official, statistically Utaka is the Premierships best performer!

Well that again proves the point I make consistently that HR knows a player and everyone else says "Who?"

Well done Harry, now lets hope that Utataka the attacker can do the business against the mighty Liverpool.

so we wernt just being stupid when we voted him pompeys best player in august ;-) a great achivment for him - and he (naturally) thourougly deserves it. Lets just hope no-one tries to buy him off us, as i cant see him staying if arsnal try to get him for 16mill...(if they would...)

am off to the frog and rosbeef for the rugby but have decided to put my pavarotti on us to win tomorrow 2-1, you gotta let your heart rule your head sometimes.
russellm
i hope we can put a performance in, and i hope Liverpool have Porto on their minds !!
Owenspompey
Well it promises to be an interesting clash. as Ron Atkinson would say "I think either team could win this or it could even be a draw".

Words of wisdom pompeygray.... I reckon after a lot of consideration, that the team who score the most will turn out to be winnners...... Lets just hope thats the blues.... Now wouldnt that be great....

Back to Utaka.... Just shows 'arry's eye for talent as I think rug said and interestingly Utaka is the only player to play every minute os pompeys season so far..
Chix
Come to think of it Pompeys player of the month must be awarded before the Liverpool game... be interesting to see if he gets it .....I think hes bound to for that goal againt Bolton alone
Chix
Bloody typical we vote him player of the month and he puts in one of his worst performances!!! Playing out of position I know but what a miss.......
