Traore says Reds are going down

Djimi Traore comes up against his former Liverpool side on Saturday and he feels that Pompey have the 'psychological edge' over the Reds.

As he told the Pompey Site he feels that Pompey can beat Liverpool once again, as we have in 3 out of the last 5 meeting we have had with them 'we beat Liverpool last season and I think we can do it again.

'You have to approach a game against a team like Liverpool with confidence. You know they've got top players, but you don't need to respect them too much.

'Liverpool don't travel well, especially to the South. I know that from experience. I think the long journey makes players tired'.

The victory over Liverpool at Fratton last season, when they fielded a much weakened side and the penalty shoot out win over them in Asia as we won the Barclays Asia Trophy will leave us in good heart, with a little psychological edge but this is now a different Liverpool side we face, probably the best side I have seen then have for many years.

They have started very well, but like all the others top clubs in the country, well most other clubs full stop, Liverpool do not like coming to Fratton, the early kick off could make things even harder for them.

The most important thing is we keep things tight at the back, but approach this game in a positive manor, if we do then I honestly cannot see any reason why we cannot win as Traore believes.

Oh dear another hypnosis Pompey win riding on the back of belief. I only wish that the dream comes true. But in the end methinks another Pompey loss. I would dearly love egg on my face and turnover the scousers, but realistically I don't see it. More importantly we get to climb up the table after our visit to Blackburn.

We want to be careful what we say about our opposition, it is great to be confident, but we have to show some sort of form before we get to beat teams like Liverpool. I admire Troare when he shows confidence in our ability, however if we dont or cant improve on our display at the Emirates we will get another battering from a very good team. However as Harry stated, we like to have a go at teams particularly at Fratton, and it would be a great bonus to pick something up against the scousers.

ignoring Chelsea ou bogey team against United, Arsenal and Pool our home record in the Prem is Won 5 Drawn 3 Lost 5 which I say is not bad. Bring em on.

is that a warning from Djimi i read, wow that'll have stevey G and the boys quakeing in their puma's now wont it. lets be honest gents the last time we beat them was down to a weakened team and a CL league game 2 days after. for some mad reason i will still put a Pavarotti on us to win

Play it again? Well, we could do

Jack Whatmough's return saw Kenny Jackett go with a 3-5-2 formation. This was successful - in the first half anyway - against Gillingham so the manager could play it again at Oldham.
