With the international break in full swing things have been pretty quiet with Pompey, but during this time Matty Taylor seems to have become a Pompey spokesman with him speaking to Pompey Site regularly.
As well as Arsenal did play Pompey's last performance against them was very disappointing, so Taylor is demanding that we get back to our best and get a positive result against Liverpool on Saturday 'we've got Liverpool at home next and we need to make sure we get a positive result.
'It will be tough though. Liverpool have got a fantastic side and a lot of people are tipping them to be champions this year.
'It was a disappointing performance against Arsenal but the other performances so far this season have been pretty good'.
Yep, Liverpool will be a tough match and unlike last season when we beat them 2-1 they will not be fielding an under strength side. But weakened side or not I still feel that if we get back to our positive best we can beat Liverpool, as we can any other side at Fratton.
We have made Fratton a fortress in recent times, so we have to make sure that we keep it that way.
On the subject of the Liverpool match, if you have not already made your predictions in the Pompey predictions league on this match do it here.
Taylor also spoke about his own potential future involvement with England. His attitude and response were first class in my thinking, as he said he was more interested in how Pompey are doing and is only interested in playing well for Pompey at this point in time.
Should he find his consistency level of last season he will get his England chance by the end of the season I feel certain of this.
Roll on Saturday - as much as I enjoyed the England game at the weekend and will clearly want more of the same against Russia on Wednesday I just want to get things going with Pompey again now though.
