Papas got a brand new kit bag

The giant Senegelese powerhouse has made the move to Fratton, its one thats looked likely for some time with Harry a renowned admirer.

Diop will have a battle for the central spot he prefers in Pompey's already congested midfield, Gary O'Neils departure easing the load a little.

Another big lad, another African, when the ANC comes around will the last one out turn off the lights?
GON for diop, sounds like we made no change, apart from one more departure in teh africa nations... any news on gudjohson its awfully quiet!!
paultsmouth u beat me to it!!! so who the hell is in our midfield .... we could field a whole squad of them!
Defence full, Midfield full, Attack little light
Good player and a different player from GON. Im a bit concerned about the African Nations Cup absences too though. Did anyone else hear the rumour about Djouf being spotted in Frogmore Road earlier today ? (probably complete nonsense)
yeh i heard the rumours.... i cant believe we would want him..... i want gudjohnson!
Diouf is a great player, but dispicable human being, he can sling his hook
no need to panic, they all come from different afn teams so some wont go, some will be back before week 2, most back in 3 weeks. papa is firkin huge, he will walk through other midfields.
GON out a player who has spent most of the last 3 years plagued by injuries in! great bit of business. GON has played over and over again while injured can't see papa showing that sort of commitment.
Steve C
i dont think it was diouf they saw i think it was bob carolgese and his dog
Bad signing lads...he's ****e
Apparently harry missed a routine press meeting at 4 o'clock because he was engaged elsewhere....
barcelona i hope!
Probably had the ****s
Is GON defeinitely gone? Word is he's failed his medical! I'm also not too sure on this signing - great comedy name but other than that....
Agree with Midge. This guy and Muntari in midfield are a human wall. It isn't fair to compare him to GON. However, if this is it (i.e. Diop & Johnson for GON and no one else coming in) then I'd be surprised.
Peter Storrie on SSN confirmed GON deal pretty much done! Shame but will be really unhappy if someone else doesn't arrive!!!
L L Blue
90 mins left... cant believe this is over and GJ is the most expensive player signed today! LOL!!! harry promised a striker did he not?!?!?!??!
i cant wait for harry's typical bare bones speach in january, spoiler HR has been known to lie on the odd occaisions but we could still get that striker.
rumours that bolton will beat derby to the signing of nugent .... was there much point in signing him, getting him up to fitness... well done team!
And Nugent is still here!!
I'm sure we'll wake up tomorrow and at least one more player will be in if not more - wouldn't be surprised to see up to 3 myself
Bloody rap so far. Dont know why we've sold GON for those 2 we bought in, something's gotta happen in the next 75 mins.
WTF, OMG, THE SHAME OF IT, why the hell is Glen johnson back??! weve got bloody lauren, and we had GON, and now, now wat? Papa Smurf, another african black dude, im not jokin lads, i think harry redknapp has some perverse fantasy about black footballers......
Swapping Gary for 'kin Papa Bouba Diop is a BAD deal. I said Harry was obsessed with him and has been for at least 3 years. More big black blokes, and Harry said on the radio today about the price of englishplayers being prohibitive - WELL why sell one for Diop, you complete arse! This has not been a good day for Pompey, I think.
Diop, Faye, Defoe, Yakubu, just a few of HR's obsessions.
Booba dooba diopp here, i dont really care, but johnson back is bad news, the guy lacks concentration, poor defending, and has a bad attitude, and the wife likes his legs!
i cant believe hes settling with the strikers. benjani cant hit a barn door, nugent, most overated piece of s**t ive ever seen, oooo then theres kanu, ye he will get us the goals.....then theres utaka, who i like, but cant see him baggin more then 10, with him playin on the right. I p**ed off. HR PROMISED US. I WENT TO BED EARLY LAST NIGHT, FOR WHAT, GLEN BLOODY JOHNSON, and with PAPA DIOP, the "monster", peter storrie calls him, i swear, our teams a sex camp
Harry likes his legs, dont you mean?
thats a great signing for you, great player
great signing?????wtf, he plays for fulham, ok, hes big, so is my dad!!!, skysports sed taht they sold GON to raise funds for DIOP, DISGRACE, HR HEAD WILL ROLLL, GARRRRRRRRRRY!
Jeeze people, lets give Diop a chance...its done now, no going back so lets support tha big lad!....sayin all that..where the ***** is our striker???
GIVE HIM A CHANCE, so ur sayin taht u wont to see that dude in a pompey shirt rather then GON, please, please it hurts to say his name, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH i think my hearts stopped beating.....broken..
wait cant johnson play up front ???? lol
Johnson cant even play with himself!
no harry does that for him
23:23 RIP GON
its all ********* ***** and double crap ***** ***** tits...papdoube sick note and glen toilet seat johnson...yet we need a STRIKER!!!!!!!
plymouth graham
lol, ive admitted defeat, 20 mins left, no hope in hell, i bet harrys kicking himself over the missed chances, kanoute, yakubu, anelka, and left the defoe and crouch deals too late
yeh.... this years transfer deadline has been dominated by portsmouth .... cant say its been amazing, far from it! well done boro, you hustled us for yakubu on the cheap and now gon, must be laughing all the way to the bank!
well, wot a load of bollox, lose one of the heart and soul of the club, and get in a load of ***** like Johnson. Off to kick the cat now. Very unhappy
Why is it Storries fault?????????????????????
pompey gleamer irll meet you outside and irll bring me own bricks
plymouth graham
Nope, still cant see how it's Storries fault.
hey could have been worse we could have sold nugent and spent the cash on Papa B Sick note... I cant express how gutted and let down i feel. hey spoiler..i think Fulham have dominated to deadline weve been mugged
plymouth graham
hehe true!!! well i waited and waited for our striker...... nothing!
GON to BORO a hole...
Felt sure one would come, gutted to be honest. Feel let down. We were promised a very exciting signing. Who was that then?? Johnson?? Diop?? Neither make you go wow. *****ed off
coz he does all the deals!!! and he looks and smells kinda odd. ANYWAY ITS OVER, in my view, the chance for europe is still lookin good, i mean, fulham are now contenders, lol, joke, *****heads, then u have villa who bought harewood, lmao, so that leaves newcastle who buy....random *****. i reckon its us and blackburn, tottenham and mabye newcastle, play up pompey, and let us all wish peter storrie a sorry end for a ***** sorry night
Storrie can only do the deals if there is a deal to be done. HR pushed GON away, and spent the money on ****. Storrie doesnt choose the players, he only does the deal once the player is highlited.
at least we can console our selves that GoN move to Boro paved the way for jason Euell to go to that dont work either
plymouth graham
i dont care! godamm it. this is the worst night of my life! i also blame gaydmark, why couldnt he just go, "here u go saggy face manager, heres 12 million, now go buy yakubu"", i also blame saggy head, mr spud is too tight fisted, hes lost it, actually i have, harrys a legend, but he is too blame for tonight, as well as gareth southgate, GAYEST MANAGER, HES A TOTAL *****ER, HOPE HE BLOODY GETS RAN OVER
Listen fellas ....... what's done is done and as gutted as we are that GON has gone and what weve got in doesn't amount to much - we will, without exception. still raise our voices and sing 'POMPEY TIL I DIE' at the next available opportunity - It could have been a lot worse - Play up Pompey ! - Im off to bed.. a bit the worse for wear.. too many ciders
right fellas there seem to be alot of angry people - yep i am one of them as tbh i cannot understand what diop brings to the table that others already here dont offer. i wish we had not had that bollox about 'sometimes players have to go to get better players in speech' as if diop and to a degree johnson are better than what we had then we cannot have been as good as i though we were... this said, much like chix says it could have been worse and our support will not change. disappointed with who came in tbh but there you go at least matty taylor stayed!
So much for the additional quality striker
agreed russellm.. but at least Nugents future is secure now - Lets watch him flourish
I agree with most of ur coments there Chix, It is done....I still think we prob tried for a striker..but obviousley failed...sayain all that, losin Gary is a blow now matter how u look at it, but with Utaka & Lauren around (now GJ will porb play right back)...would he get to play regular football??prob not, & gary wants to, as sad as it is, its prob for the god.....we are clearly *****ed when the african nations comes round!!! please Nugent....were all counting on you.....
Dont forget Benji - He wont be going to the ANC.. and if need by Niko caan play up front ... All is not lost
Time to get on with what we have got but still miffed GON has gone. Can see Papa & Sulley covering each other when one is either injured or suspended.
Imagine if Nugent had gone too?
if nuge and/or matty taylor had gone there would have been hell to pay!
Looks like HR needs to do something in the popularity stakes - perhaps a win at the Emirates tomorrow will do.
Yep, a win with Johnson playing a blinder and a 40 yard rocket from the sub, Diop. And that will only pacify us for a while - you listening Hal?
who would be a football manager eh! 'arry has set himself up for a fall here, clearly i hope it doesnt happen. something very good needs to come of the next 4 months...
Harry will work his magic, he will be kicking himself the striker did not arrive but come January we can have another look. Diop will be fine and Glen Johnson will improve with playing time, Play up Pompey
