'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Glen Johnson set to sign?

As he told the Daily Star - the source of all top information! - Harry Redknapp is hopeful of signing Glen Johnson, with a deal set to be wrapped up today 'Glen did well for us when he was here.

'He is a good player and I hope we can get him'.

Funny that, we were not good enough for him before when Redknapp wanted him, now Chelsea have finally decided he is not good enough for them he might come back.

West Ham and Newcastle are also interested but it is widely claimed that Pompey have won the race to sign him and it is also claimed that Peter Storrie met him yesterday, so he should be at the training ground to sign for around 3m sometime today.

To be honest I would not particularly want him back, as I was not that impressed with him when he was on loan last season. He started well but seemed to take his almost 'guaranteed' first team spot for granted. But, if he does come back clearly I will get behind the fella.

My thinking is that he still has a lot of growing up to do, which is probably having a lot to do with his apparent lack of concentration on the field, but should he get his attitude right then he could well get back to the player he was a few years back.

More from the rumours is that GJ has been seen in Birmingham this morning. Good player got caught in possession too often though last season - a lack of concentration.

how the mighty would have fallen if he goes to brum instead - they are even lower in the food chain than pompey...

I think he means Villa Pompeyrug.
mackaavfc
well villa would have been a good move, either way he has signed for pompey now...

Not bothered either way but certainly not at the expense of losing GON.
