The 'hopefuls' not the favoured lot

The 'hopefuls' not the favoured lot

Bolton, Blackburn and Spurs - or the 'hopefuls' as they were put - are the teams least favoured! Not my vote, yours - although these findings from Et_tu_Pompeii's poll are thoughts I might have shared, but did not as I did not vote that way. Either way I find it difficult to write about.

As I said when the poll was added, right away I again say - before anyone moans - this was simply a poll, nothing more nothing less, it meant nothing, it will not change the way of the world, it is just a question that someone wanted to know the answer to.

It is extremely difficult for me to write anything about this without angering people - and I how quickly and easily some can be angered on Vital Football.

Yep, I do dislike some teams, with some disliked more than others. The big 4 are disliked by myself in many ways, not because of the way they play as I generally enjoy watching them play, this dislike is not so much to do with them, more to do with the fact so many view them as 'the only teams in the Premiership', when there are actually 16 others.

Basically I will leave things there, if people wish to put forward their own personal feelings and opinions on what the poll found, by all means do, but I for one am not going to start a mass war of words by naming teams by name in this article - do you really think that I am stupid enough to do that!

What the poll asked - Which bunch of teams in the Premiership do you hate most?

How you voted - Hopefuls - Bolton, Blackburn & Spurs 32%, No-hopers - Fulham, Boro & Wigan 23%, Big 4 - Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea & Liverpool 20%, Underachievers - Villa, Everton & Newcastle 13%, Non-entities - West Ham, Reading & Man City 7%, New boys - Derby, Sunderland & Birmingham 5%

Current Poll - The biggest challenge of the 2007/08 season so far comes on Saturday when we go to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea - do not forget if you have not already made your predictions in the Pompey predictions league on this match do it here.

We always lose in the Premiership against Chelsea and do not even score, well not until Benjani's goal last season.

Chelsea are untouchable at Stamford Bridge, so anything other than a point maximum would seem unlikely, but call me crazy I have a feeling we could go there and win! Am I alone, will we lose as usual, that is what I want to know - 'what will we do at Chelsea on Saturday?' Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.

Come On Chelsea, Come On Chelsea. Beware the backlash we won't be playing to draw this weekend back to the 4-3-3.

That's interesting, I suppose we better put out first team this week, then. The reserves did quite well beating Bolton, last week as it happens. I expect you're hoping for a 'friendly' ref again? Maybe one who has recently fitted Ambrosiavitch's new kitchen, or has allowed him to eat in his posh restaurant? Well for your info, the linesman on Saturday knows my Uncle Perce on my mums side so ha! I'm Just going to have a sit down.

as much as i would like to say otherwise i suspect that 'arry will be playing for a draw - which is understandable... we always lose to chelski but i have this feeling - stupidity or pompey blindness maybe? - that we could surprise you? i just pray that 'arry goes 4-4-2 and doesnt pack the midfield with a 4-5-1 formation, we are good enough to play chelsea in a 4-4-2 so give it a go 'arry! i would rather we lost having a go than lost with a negative 4-5-1... beware of john utaka he moves quicker than any of your defenders can, so give him an inch and he will take a mile.

Great poll by the way. We all hate some teams, don't pretend you don't. Oh, and get a sense of humour.
23/08/2007 11:04:00
mate i never said that i didnt hate teams, quite the opposite and ive got a great sense of humour but like i said im not feeding myself to the loins with what i actually write in the article... in the comments, well that is another matter altogether :)

It's always a good game between us we just come out on top usually, I just think if we play at our best we are going to be to much for you at the Bridge.
23/08/2007 11:17:00
with england's no.1 in goal you will have a force to break down, hopefully some of our better defenders will be back or he might not get much protection...
23/08/2007 11:22:00
That's why they play the games rather than mailing in a result Dicksy. I think we'll give you lot a much better run for the money this year though, especially after witnessing the Reading game.
23/08/2007 14:45:00
By the way, my group of three least favoured would be Man U., Manchester United and ManYoo.
23/08/2007 14:46:00
:) i like that one mate! united are not one of my favoured team, most others i dont really mind tbh altho i do not really like spurs...
