Rangers confirm Dejan interest

Rangers boss Walter Smith has admitted to Rangers News that Dejan Stefanovic is a target of his, 'he is one of a few players we are looking at and will continue to look at until the transfer window is closed.

'We've been looking at some players but it doesn't necessarily mean we'll act'.

But it is much as Smith says though, just because he is interested in possibly signing Stefanovic - or any other player for that mater - it does not mean he will.

My thinking is that Stefanovic would do a great job for Rangers, so I would not begrudge him this move at all, but I am not sure he would uproot his family to go to Scotland to be honest.

I cannot say it enough, Stefanovic has been a great servant to this club but I think we would all acknowledge that his days as a first team regular are numbered.

As much as I would like him to stay for this probable last season, his chances appear to be very limited, so it would not surprise me in the slightest if he did move on before the end of next week - if not then I would think that if he is not getting much football by January he will go then.

A groin injury is currently keeping him sidelined and although he did not seem that impressed with the way the captaincy issue was handled, he has not once said that he wants to move and still appears happy enough.

Dej has been great servant to Pompey - If he stays he does so knowing he's no longer a first choice, if he goes then he has a chance of silverware @ Rangers - Either way, whatever he choses he should do it with Pompey's blessing and a big handshake to say 'thanks mate'

As above. Time for all to move on.

tbh i would still like him to stay but he isnt the player he was, so wont play too much will he. rangers would be a good move for him - but its not too likely he will drag his family all the way to scotland is it...
