Pompey competition update #3

Vital Fantasy Football - 'Pompey mini league'

After the latest round of Premiership matches of the 2007/08 season the current leader in the Vital Fantasy Football 'Pompey mini league' is Bluoo Toooth Bashers with 89 points, who climbs from 2nd - top this week. This leaves them just a head of maradona_kebab with 86 points, who drops a place from top - 2nd. Always Victory has 71 points to stay in 3rd, but loses a bit of ground on the leaders. Bluoo Toooth Bashers and maradona_kebab stay in the overall top 50, of over 3000 entries, congratulations fellas.

'Pompey predictions league'

We all did extremely with our predictions in the Pompey Predictions League for the Bolton game, with several - including myself - predicting the right 3-1 result and some of the correct goalscorers.

However after predicting a 3-1 win with predictions of John Utaka and Matty Taylor also scoring, as both did this was enough to see Chix pick up 8 points in total this week to also move from 3rd - 1st place overall. Last weeks leader auntwallop scored zero points and drops to 2nd, while, despite scoring 4 points ndux also drops a place from 2nd - 3rd.

If you missed out on predicting for the Bolton match, it is never too late just start with your predictions for the upcoming game with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. So if you have not already made your predictions on this match with Chelsea do it here..

am i off the bottom of the predictions league yet?
russellm
check out the table and you will see russ ;) but you correctly predicted a 3-1 win, so that alone gave you 4pts - so that should answer your question :)

I am really annoyed at the fantasy football. I only had 6 players playing in the last game, not really anyones fault due to injuries and red cards, but I have Lua Lua in my team. I can't belive I have to wait till mid september before I can change him. With Berbatov out as well I have no strikers. Surely since he is no longer in the league I should be allowed to pick another player to replace him?

i feel your pain mate, i have so many players out too - but if i had been paying attention i could have changed mine before the season started... that makes sense mate, as if a player transfers to another team, if that takes your allocation of 4 players - or whatever it is - per team over that amount you have to sell one dont you, so if they go out of the game surely you can sell them also? i will look into this mate and get back to you.

Ah the joys of sticking in a dud so early in the competition....I'm currently being punished for picking a scummer (Bale)....hasn't even played yet.
Tantona
we got what we deserved by selecting him didnt we mate - i also thought he would be a good idea...
