How sweet it would be

How sweet it would be

United might have wanted him in the past, but it is Pompey that have him now, so how sweet would it be for us for Sulley Muntari to pull one over United tonight and score the winning goal past them!

It is no secret that United had wanted Muntari in the past, with Sir Alex Ferguson openly admitting his admiration for the player - that United have had watched several times - and but for work permit issues a few years back would have got him as a teenager.

United's loss has and will be yet further Pompey's gain, as we have signed a classy midfielder that seems to have all the boxes ticked that will make him a success in this country.

Yep, I would take victory any way it comes but I love it when Pompey pull one over United at any time, but if we could do this again tonight and with Muntari twisting that knife too it will make things even sweeter for me. It would also make Fergie's post match glass of red with Harry Redknapp taste a little bitter, again something that would please me.

After a disappointing debut we need The Munter to start bossing the Premier League and where better to start than at Fratton Park against Man Ure! I wonder if the current Site Poll percentages will change if we win tonight?

Any win anyway would be nice. Hows about another Ferdinand OG? Let's give the new boys a right royal (blue) welcome and show 'em what a special occasion at evening out at FP is.

No one was disappointing at Derby. Derby played aginst uus, like we did against Villa on forst Premiership game. Its natural.

Good points, you lot, disappointing in the fact he didn't get a hat trick, clear a couple off the line and kick Howard up in the air more often! Everything's relative.

A look back at this day in history, and what was happening with Pompey courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, 26th June.

Done Deal - Smith in permanently from Swindon

The interest Pompey retained in Smith, with him 'in our sights' has resulted in him returning to the Blues on a permanent basis after signing for an 'undisclosed fee' from Swindon.

Cushioning the blow

Much, that needed saying, about Webster's exit for Ipswich and the arrival of Clarke in return (and cash) has been said hasn't it? Doyle's been spot on with what he said.

Swindon striker in 'Pompey's sights'

Michel Smith, who was of course on loan last season, could return? He's still in 'Pompey's sights' by all accounts after Swindon informed him he's 'surplus to requirements' now.
