Bournemouth sign Jason Pearce

Bournemouth sign Jason Pearce

It was expected to be a season long loan deal but Bournemouth have completed the signing of defender Jason Pearce - although my thinking was this was always something that was likely to happen.

He had been playing for Bournemouth during pre season - even against Pompey our 4-1 victory over them when he also accidentally injured John Utaka - and has done enough to earn himself a 2 year contract.

I have not seen him play - apart from what I saw of him against us for Bournemouth - before but he was tipped, by the papers, as a player to 'watch out for' last season, but things did not really work out as planned.

Good luck to him with the Cherries though, no doubt our paths will cross again.

Good luck to him, i thought he could go on to make it, but he will be a good signing for them and at least he will get regular football. Are we making more money available for a player by selling him?

i always got this feeling that the move to bournemouth would also be a permanent one tbh, which it has. it would have been nice to have seen what he could have done, but if it is best for all concerned then the right thing has been done... you wouldnt have expected his wages to be that high would you, so it wont really free up that much money will it - but every little helps!

No More Quarter Final Replays For Pompey

Should Portsmouth progress through to an FA Cup quarter final from the 2016/17 season onwards, the game will no longer be subject to a replay.

On this day in history...27th May

A look back at this day in history, and what was happening with Pompey courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, 27th May.

Chesterfield's O'Shea targeted

Although so far Pompey have had two bids turned down for Chesterfield's O'Shea. Will, assuming another bid (as it's expected) is made, it be third time luck for the Blues?

It wasn't Real Madrid but Bristol City isn't bad!

Contrary to what I just wrote (muppet that I am) this isn't at Fratton this is at Ashton Gate with Pompey heading to Bristol City on Saturday 30th July, with a 3pm kick-off.
