Fantasy Football & Prediction League

As most will now know Vital Football are offering their own version of 'Fantasy Football' this season - with £1000 up for grabs for the overall winner, not to mention monthly prizes and more.

If you have not already registered a team click here for more information on the prizes up for grabs, the game itself and how to get a team sorted, it literally only takes a few minutes. It took me longer to fill in my personal details than it did to pick my team!

Once you have sorted out your team, you will automatically go into the league with all the other Pompey fans but as an added bonus I am personally offering a prize to the winner of the 'Vital Pompey mini league' that has been created, so get your team into that as well - the only stipulation here is you have to be a Vital Pompey member to join this.

It only takes a few seconds to join the mini league - and does not affect participation in the overall game - you simply select the 'join mini league' link on the left of the fantasy football web page and put in these details in the join a mini league section and click 'join league'.

So here are the details, which clearly took me hours to think up!

League Name - Vital Pompey League
Password - vital pompey

That is not all, I am personally running my own 'Pompey Predictions League' this season.

This is not in connection with any that you can find on the net, I am organising and maintaining this with my own database that has been set up.

All you have to do to take part is put forward - within the 'Pompey Predictions League Forum' - your views on the match outcome, match scoreline and the Pompey goalscorers. You gain points for each area you are correct in, with bonus points also up for grabs.

As with the fantasy football mini league I am again putting up a prize for the eventual winner of the prediction league. 2nd and 3rd places will also win something.

However to make sure those that join partway, midway, or even towards the end are not left out the manager(s) with the most accumulated points each month will all go into an end of season draw - with the first randomly selected name also winning a prize.

The threads for all of Pompey's matches through August are already in place, including Saturday's big kick off against Derby - so if you have not already made your predictions for this match you can do it now here.

You cannot get fairer than this fellas - Vital Football are putting up prizes for the fantasy football, I am doing this for those of you that get your team into the Vital Pompey mini league, plus I am offering prizes for the Pompey predictions league too!

PLAY UP POMPEY!

Third time lucky? Nope as O'Shea interest ends

O'Shea saw a couple of bids for him put in; these were turned down by Chesterfield. A third bid hasn't come from Pompey and it isn't going to either.

Topping last seasons tally the aim

78pts was only enough for a play-off place last season so you suspect we'll have to better that for a top 3 finish this coming season, which begins with Carlisle at Fratton.
