Kanu finally signs new Pompey deal?
The News is saying this morning that Kanu has finally, once and for all put pen to paper on a new Pompey deal, with them saying Harry Redknapp told them 'I am pleased he has decided to stay.
'He has trained with us and looked excellent'.
I cannot find anything official on the Pompey site - unless I have missed it? - so although I am not saying this is not true until something shows up on there, after all the palaver surrounding this whole deal, I will be a little sceptical.
The News made the announcement that a new deal had been agreed and would be signed earlier in the week, only for the club to deny this.
Maybe Kanu can get a run out in the Leicester game today? If he has signed a contract this must be an exercise that is needed, which would also confirm for sure the state of play.

Really bored with the Kanu thing, now, he's really taken the pi**. Stay or go fer Christ's sake, just do something, you lanky git. What about this old nonsense then? "Portsmouth and Aston Villa have joined the race for Fulham right-back Liam Rosenior." At least I hope it's nonsense!

the news and the official site are having a right old ding dong at the moment arent they - getting the boot in at one another whenever they can, the talk from both, particularly the subtle little hints in the news over the kanu 'continued saga' this week showing more signs of it... tbh as i said in response to russ elsewhere i think that rosenior is a pretty decent young talent, so if the price was right i wouldnt object really...

We must be desperate for a new right back, Lauren, Linvoy and Noe plus Crainie, what a load of garbage that report is.
Love the point about Kanu and pre-season training, it is just a ploy to miss the hard work, is he in the squad for Leicester or will he come off the bench against Derby next week to secure our 4-0 win with goals.

4-0 win! If that's the score then I couldn't care less if Sol Campbell scores a hat-trick! Personally I don't think he'll be fit to play in the first few games at least having missed so much of pre-season, but we shall see.

when you look at it that way Owenspompey and actually look at what we have, altho he is young and can play in a variety of positions the rosenior link is pretty bollox isnt it mate... kanu looks after himself - apparently - so would he really need much training behind him? if he has signed and is in the right mind to get a run out i say he has to get at least 20 minutes today...

i reckon that HR must be pretty keen to keep him - as we can see, 'arry likes hi african playors, and if you want to attract them to a club, theres none better than kanu. even if he will only scrape his 20 games, he is definatly worth it, as he CAN be a prety nast super sub (as blackburn will tell you)!

i agree mate, he will make a super sub this season - but that is all he will be... and again i agree that 'arry is very, very keen on keeping him and it prob is more beneficial to the club that he stays than goes but i think this whole situation has been handled completely wrong and should never have been allowed to drag on like it has. let us not forget he still hasnt actually signed a contract despite the news saying otherwise - again - today! 'arry reckons it is being signed on monday morning?

i will be glad to get it over with. lets hope he signs on monday, scores on saterday, gets us into europe on mayday (or something like that...) not much to ask of him really.

if he doesnt sign by monday then - altho i have said this before - surely pompey have to say thanks, but not thanks... but 'arry seems sure he will and he wouldnt have been training with us if he wouldnt sign the contract would he?
