The team down the road...

I would rather see the scummers relegated than anything else they could achieve this season! Not my vote, yours - although these findings from pompey4me's poll are thoughts I do not entirely share myself.

Yep, the rivalry between the blue and red halves of Hampshire runs deep, as deep as any rivalry could, so it is understandable that so many would prefer to see the scummers squirm, best of all relegated above anything else - no doubt the vast majority feel the same in a reversed scenario.

My thinking personally though is I just do not really care what they are up to!

I do not like them, but I will be honest I do not particularly go out of my way to hate them either, clearly my dislike for them is a little more than it would be most other clubs, but to a large extent they are nothing more than 'just another club' to me.

It gives me great satisfaction to see Pompey once again to top side from the area after so many years of playing second fiddle, so the longer this can continue the better, but promotion, mid table, relegation, whatever they do does not really concern that much to be honest as what Pompey are doing on and off the field is my main priority - and the only thing that worries me really.

What the poll asked - Where would you like to see the scummers finish this year?

How you voted - Relegated 61%, I just do not care! 19%, Automatic promotion 10%, Finish mid table and stay in the fizzy pop league 6%, Reach the playoffs and lose again 4%

Current Poll - We are just over a week away from the start of the 2007/08 season, so the talking will soon stop and actions will speak louder than words. The away form has been a problem in recent years - can we finally alter this?

Fratton was a fortress last season, but too many dropped points away from home, due mostly down to negative tactics, really let us down. To realistically be where most want us to be this season we have to improve this dramatically. So pentonpompey wants to know - 'how many points on the road do you think Pompey will achieve this season?' Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.

Well I have to work with them and I don't really care - mid table obscurity the best. They are now a team of no stars, a few untried kids and the odd Pompey reject. Relegation not a good bet as there some weak looking sides in the fizzy league this season.

i voted for them to reach the play offs and lose again, oh the hurt on their faces.... it was a joy to behold. LoL ultimately i dont really care if they get promoted as long as we get 6 points off them

I think russellm likes repeating himself so just for russellm let's hope his dream comes true....and just quietly mine too. (Scummers 5th another season down there and Pompey 5th but in the Superior League)

Mid Table obscurity would do me lovely for them; going nowwhere and stuck in never never land, and leave me with a big smug grin :-)

I voted for them to go down, although i dont think this will happen. TBH, I just still like the feeling of them just being down there after all the years of them being in leagues above us. I am not of the persuasion that i would like to play them twice every year, i just love being able to profess to all who will listen, we are premier league, they are not. Long may it continue, until one year when they manage to sneak promotion, only to spend 1 miserable year in the prem then get relegated by christmeas!!

i am torn between 3 devils - do i want them t come up, so we can send them down again with 2 crushing victories over them, do i want to see them just miss out on promotion, to see there poor faces, or do i want to see them go down, just to make it more funny. tbh, i came to the conclusion that i dont care - anywhere that they finish has its merits or me - just so long as they arn't bought by an american tycooon

They will be mid table rubbish, they loved it when we struggled and we love it when they are in the Fizzy pop league, long may they stay down amongst those other wannabees, like we always said. what goes around comes around.

I can go 30 years before the next league derby. Stuff them in a few cup games maybe but the divide is fantastic.
