Griffin completes his move to Derby

Andy Griffin looks set for an instant reunion with Pompey following his move away from the club - as he has signed for Derby, our first opponents of the 2007/08 season.

He spent much of last season on loan with Stoke and it was expected that he would sign a permanent deal with them, but the chance to stay in the top flight has swayed it in Derby's favour and he has signed a 3 year contract.

There was no way back for Griffin, who had not even been issued a squad number this season, so to play any football this season he had to go. Good luck to him and Derby though - after 11th August of course.

Griffin, who becomes the first player sold this summer - as Svetoslav Todorov was a free agent when he went to Charlton - is highly unlikely to be the last.

good luck to him at Derby, although i never could deny his commitment, i never thought he was good enough for the Prem, and it gets one more set of wages off the books.

yep, god luck to him and derby, i think they will need it... im not sure, there are certainly alot of others players worse than grif playing in the prem - but i too was not much of a fan of his tbh tho...

He did have the ability to play at Right or Left back which is invaluable to a club like Derby and no-ne could doubt his determination. His major problem was his distribution particularly to his right sided midfield player. Good luck AG!!
