Pamarot and LuaLua move talk?

There were slight murmurings over the latter part of the weekend that Noe Pamarot might leave Pompey to return to France in a loan deal - with these murmurings getting a little louder in the French media now.

Monaco is the side 'reportedly' interested in taking the Frenchman, who only has a year left on his current contract, back to his homeland.

I was not that convinced by Pamarot when he was with Pompey the first time round, nor was I when he first returned but he has grown on me and has looked particularly impressive to me during pre season so far.

My thinking would be that unless he wants to go Harry Redknapp would have little interest in letting him leave - nor should he have any interest in letting him go.

There is also more talk about Lomana LuaLua being at the centre of a 'tug of war' between Sevilla and Espanyol.

I have been up and down on where I stood with LuaLua and what I wanted to happen to his this summer, but again, unless he wants to go I would like him to stay here and I think that he will.

He has looked hungry the last couple of pre season games, which I am taking as a good sign for the season ahead. Although he could be used as a bargaining tool to bring Fredi Kanoute to Pompey from Sevilla, as has been mentioned previously.

I don't think losing Pamarot would be a huge blow, although he looked better than Crainie in the Asia Trophy who was terrible. If Lua Lua is to go then it should be to Sevilla as part of a swap deal for Kanoute although he looked quite interested when coming on for the trophy final.
bluedr
I didnt think creanie was terrible, but Pamarot did look better more confortable, stronger etc

I must admit in the games i have seen Cranie play i didnt think he looked bad at all, maybe i am out of touch here but i feel we have a little bit of a bargain on our hands. bluedr's comment is the first negative comment i have read or heard anywhere, even sky and anti pompey paul walsh were impressed with him. Pamarot has had a good pre season.
russellm
Do feel that if Lua goes it will be to Seville as part of a swap with Kanoute, also I think Pamarot is not half as bad as some make out, he is very reliable cover if nothing else
paultsmouth
Pamarot is a great squad player, surely we cant undervalue someone that can play anywhere along the back 4?? LuaLua, only he will know where his heart is, I am a fan of his, but maybe the time is right for him as a person to move on. If he does, it should be with all our best wishes, if not he should stay, play with passion and be rewarded with loyal support from us fans.
pompey4me
i must admit i have been impressed with cranie so far and did not think he played badly at all in hong kong tbh... pre season can be deceptive, but pamarot has looked a much improved player - altho to give him credit he was beginning to look like this eventually last season anyway, he is certainly more than worth keeping and would be missed if he was sold or even loaned... if lualua is up for it then he will be rewarded for sure mate - if he isnt then it is best for him to go as things wont get any easy for him if he isnt completely commited and willing to fight for a place and to win those doubters over - altho the likes of the pratts at the yeovil game have made up their minds regardless!
pompeyrug
Sorry Ruggers, you will have to educate me reference the pratts at the yeovil game. What was being said?
pompey4me
I think he was referring to a load of people insulting him whenever he touched the ball - the people behind me were calling for his head at the end of the arsnal game. LuaLua would never be content with just a squad place, but on his day, as he puts it, he cna change a match - its just a shame he did not have many good days last season. Paramot is a great squad playor as he is able to play all alng the back 4. Its just a question as to whether he WANTS to be a squad playor.
pompeycarpet
yep pompey4me, basically pompeycarpet is right. i went to the pompey game with my brother, his missus, their mate and then met up with russellm and the fellas behind us litterally had no good word for lualua, not even when he scored... it was f-ing this and f-ing that lualua all the time... yep, lualua might not have had a great game and he does my nut too but tw*ts like that that dont and wont give the fella a break no matter what he does are never going to give him even the remotest of chances - or others such as cranie, but they are the type of 'fan' that you can rest assured will always have been 'his biggest fan' if he comes good this season!
pompeyrug
^ should have said went to the yeovil - pompey game...
pompeyrug
Yep, every club must have them, fans that do nothing but moan and shout negative comments then profess to be the clubs biggest fan.....pompey through and through me!! Blue blood in my veins! I can just hear them saying it now, I was stood next to a few at the havant game, did my head in. And they were not young lads, some of these were grandparent age! I think people should moan and make a point if it's justified, but surely if all you are going to do is moan all game, why bother to go atall?
pompey4me
Wow, that turned into a bit of a rant...sorry all, normal service resumed now.
pompey4me
that is the kind of rant i like to see mate... yep, we pay our money so we are entitled to a little whinge and moan arent we, but doing so for the sake of it is just ridiculous isnt it - some people get moaned at no matter what and can do no right no matter what they do at times can they, wind me up...
pompeyrug
Just a thought that has no relevance on this thread, but it surprises me that Claude Makele wouldn't be of interest to HR, especially watching the first half of Asia Cup v. the scousers. ( Beckham's limp ankle was the only reason we got to watch a repeat of the Asia Cup Final out here, rather than the televisual famine of an LA Galaxy game - long may it be limp ).
Toronto4Pompey
There's no one better at wheeling and dealing than Harry! How many more moves in and out before the season starts?
sandgroanun
1 more i think, another striker.
pompey4me
1 more, however HR did hint that we could be in for more...after all, he did say "a couple", and he is always full of surprises.
pompeycarpet
Alright then...Makele & Kanoute (but Lua stays !)
Toronto4Pompey
i think it will be two, we need another winger and a striker who will not be off to africa for January. just getting back to the title of the thread, i also thought Noe Pamarotten as i used top call him finished last season quite strongly and i agree it is early days and the quality of the games has not been high but he has started pre season well.
russellm
intresting how most of the prats were hedging their bets a bit about LuaLua following the tour and todays game. Intresting to see how he will get on against Leicester. i also see LL as part of a swap deal should Kanoute arrive, especially as the Kanu issue seems to be resolving it self
