Pompey mobbed on Hong Kong arrival

Pompey mobbed on Hong Kong arrival

If we wanted another sign of how far Pompey has come - the welcome we received when arriving in Hong Kong should have given this.

Yep, the Premiership is a global attraction so this probably helped our reception, but the fact that fans waited for 3 hours to get a look at their heroes, Pompey players included, shows how far we have come.

Liverpool gained an even greater reception, but the fact that all of our players are known, even with the already mentioned appeal of the Premiership as a whole, is amazing and something that seemed almost impossible in my mind a few years back.

Pompey's match with Fulham on Tuesday has sold out of the 40,000 tickets that were available - with fans said to have queued for two days for tickets!

This is another indication as to why Pompey went to Hong Kong instead of playing in this season intertoto cup, as the Asian market is phenomenal and could be worth an absolute fortune to the club.

PLAY UP POMPEY!

International superstars! Who knows, maybe this Asian appeal will lead to us signing a top Asian player? A goalkeeper perhaps!!!
