Geovani impresses Harry

Geovani impresses Harry

The inevitable trialist always appears in a pre-season friendly for Pompey, but very few catch the eye, leat alone make a goal and score!

In recent years only Andy Henry has caught the eye in these matches, remember him?

I feel 'Geovani' may be an alias also, I can't find evidence of a player under that name anywhere, in fact I think he may be a Teenage Ninja Turtle.

All we know as of yet, 'He is a Brazilian with a Spanish passport' Redknapp told SkySports, so he fits the right criteria of being a EU citizen and not available for the Africa Nations Cup!

Roll on Havant & Waterlooville, and maybe another appearance from our mystery guest!

Oh yeah, Geovanni is his real name. Look him up on Wikipedia and you'l find his record. Not bad at all.

He played for Barcelona and Benfica. There was no alias name being used. I think he might get another run out against H&W and if he fails to do the same thing there he won't be offered a contract. I'm not sure why we'd need another player of his calibre? He's an attacking midfielder of sorts and Kranjcar, Lua Lua and to some extent Muntari fills that role.

He looked a good player, but then again his CV is good, could he be worth a punt, i think Harry and Joe will know by the end of the training camp, but he is another option and probably cheaper than Diarra. Playing against Fulham in Hong Kong would be a good test for him, but at first glance i thought he did good.

It was quite amusing to read the reports and see that a player that I'd never heard of was our best player on the day......typical 'Arry.

Sign him before others try & pinch him. If he's on a free, we have little to lose.

Yep Lysimachus, once i got the spelling right all became clear. Pompey rug and i decided he had to be good because he had a flash name what more evidence do you need i ask. I thought him well worth a trip to asia on that performance, he was creative and sharp, he is more of an attacker than Muntari (also impressive yesterday in a that ball is mine kind of a way), Geovanni seemes to drift to the opposite side to Krunchie (LoL 1 game and im an expert) so i dont see an issue there and the guy is on a free. He reminds me a bit of D'Allessandro. Some of the crowd seemed to forget Nugent was on our team yesterday i hope they are a bit more patient in future or it will be 6 million wasted.

http://www.uefa.com/competitions/UCL/Players/Player=60963/index.html this link on UEFA .com has a small Biopic, the more i read the more he reminds me of D'allessandro, as a free he has to be worth it. Coming from Cruzeiro he will not be on a high salary but the ownership will need to be checked

No More Quarter Final Replays For Pompey

Should Portsmouth progress through to an FA Cup quarter final from the 2016/17 season onwards, the game will no longer be subject to a replay.

On this day in history...27th May

A look back at this day in history, and what was happening with Pompey courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, 27th May.

Chesterfield's O'Shea targeted

Although so far Pompey have had two bids turned down for Chesterfield's O'Shea. Will, assuming another bid (as it's expected) is made, it be third time luck for the Blues?

It wasn't Real Madrid but Bristol City isn't bad!

Contrary to what I just wrote (muppet that I am) this isn't at Fratton this is at Ashton Gate with Pompey heading to Bristol City on Saturday 30th July, with a 3pm kick-off.
