Rolando Bianchi anyone?

As one trail goes dry - David Nugent - it did not take long for the media to get another going!

This time, but not for the first time, an Italian is 'linked' with Pompey. This Italian is Reggina's Rolando Bianchi - he has not been linked already has he? I lose track sometimes with the amount that are linked.

The word from sky sports is reports from the Italian press are suggesting that Pompey, along with Arsenal and City are looking at the Italian after a move to Napoli fell through, with Atletico Madrid and Valencia also keeping an eye on him.

A quick search revealed nothing particularly special about him goalscoring wise but the fella is attracting good company if reports are true, so he cannot be that bad can he - but the chances of a move here are not really that likely are they?

Young Italian, not quite what 'Arry has in mind.
storagematt
Seville want £10m for Kanoute! So what about the spagetthi kid, seems a good prospect.
storagematt
he certainly does seem to have good teams after him so cannot be that bad can he... with several teams after him this is likely to see his price increase even more isn't it? a bidding war will never be won by pompey will it...
pompeyrug
havnt we already discused young italien playors, and decided that we proably wont get one, cos harry thinks they will not do that well
pompeycarpet
oh, and we did win the bidding war for nugent, did we not? higher bids than everton, betterterms than sunderland...
pompeycarpet
what 'arry says and what 'arry does are not always one in the same, so as unlikely as this would be i will not totally rule it out... it was not exactly a bidding war tho with nugent was it mate...
pompeyrug
Lets just buy him blind. Who cares how good he is? Can't be any worse than the strikers we have or did have?
The Rabbi
you would hope he could not be any worse :) young, mobile and any kind of goalscoring threat and we are on to a winner...
pompeyrug
Looks like the Nugent trail is back on. Just to keep us hanging for another week.
stillthewhizz
Yes, maybe the exciting Nugent saga is set to drag on for another seven days.....as many have said, it's going to be his biggest move to date so he needs time to mull it over, I'd just rather we havdn't learnt about his talks until say....today.....to save all the frustration! As for Bianchi, never 'eard of him.
Tantona
Clearly some of you think it's acceptable to behave like this. But I believe for the money that these players earn nowadays, they should show a bit of respect for the employers and possible future employers.
stillthewhizz
for the money playors are payed, every freekick and penalty should be at least on target, no-one should mistime a chalege, no goalkeeper should fluff anything up. But then, they are paid to entertain, and Nugent is doing a pretty good job of it!
pompeycarpet
Ha ha, so true. The money wasted in football could easily clear third world debt, yet turds like Nugent still fanny about whilst he makes a simple yes or no decision. Pointless comparison over.

RONALDO'S coming to Pompey!!!????????...Blimey, never saw that one coming, superb! but wheres Lua Lua going to play?
pentonpompey
Bianchi is a decent player, however Harry said he was reluctant to buy an Italian Striker, so is it the papers talking it up again. I saw him play for Reggina on holiday and he was ok, but not the 15-20 goal striker we are crying out for.
Owenspompey
Bianchi, didnt i watch him in london on Le Tour ???? Anyway harry has pronounced Italians dont do well here, thats why he didnt sign DiCanio, DOH !!!!!!!
russellm
Di Canio was a bit special wasnt he, but if you listened to the man on Sky he stated how reluctant he was to invest in an Italian Striker and i thought Di Canio played in midfield DOH !!! Or he did for Lazio, West Ham, Charlton and Sheff Wed when i watched him
Owenspompey
Bianchi was being talked up in readiness for his move to Manchester, would we really have been interested in a striker of his quality at nearly 9 million? i dont really think so. Or maybe we are going to step in and snatch him from them !!
