You voted 'two good strikers'

Pompey to sign two good strikers before we kick off the season! Not my vote, yours - although I too believe we will eventually sign two good - or better - strikers.

So, overall it appears that the majority remain confident that before the season gets underway we will add the two strikers Harry Redknapp wants, be this 'good strikers', or 'two cheap' ones - either way we mostly feel we will achieve our aim.

What the poll asked - How many new strikers will we sign before the season starts?

How you voted - Two good strikers 58%, Two cheap (well, what would you expect) 10%, One cheap one - still not much better 7%, Drogba and Torres 7%, None - we won't splash the cash 6%, One good 'un (not Harewood!) 6%, 3 or more 6%

Current Poll - Sulley Muntari had recently been told by Redknapp to 'clean up his act', he then himself vowed to reduce the number of cards he picked up. The Italian game is much different to the English one, so how 'dirty' he really is remains unsure though.

But if he could get a 'job done' on someone this season - fairly of course! - who would you want it to be on? Tantona asks the question in his poll - 'Which player would you most like to see man-marked by Sulley 'Mick Kennedy' Muntari next season?' Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.

well it seems that one of them wont be Nugent, he has been told to report back for training. I just heard on radio that his manager was asked if he was likely to be moving or trainingand was quoted as saying " i think he is likely to be training, he really had his heart set on Everton" however Everton do not appear that intrested

If he ain't that interested, remove the option. Why would we sign a player who doesn't want to wear the shirt? Having said that, no-one really knows what's really going on, so I guess we'll have to see what happens.

I said earlier in the week that I didn't think he would sign(wants to be a Toffee too much) I hope i'm wrong, but not looking too good is it? Surely it would be better to spend that kind of money on someone who wouldn't have one eye a move away, at the first chance! Why does Nugent have these talks with clubs onnl to then not answer his phone?...some kind of fetish?!?!

Someone at the club, Peter Storrie, needs to make a statement about the situation, after all we have paid for our season tickets and should be kept informed of what is going on, by tonight we will be linked with Bellamy and Crouch and tomorrow Harewood and Camara. If players do not want to sign let them go, if Nugent is stalling for Everton let him go to ther,e i dont know what he will get there, apart from one season of European Soccer where they will be knocked out early, and his England career will stall like Johnsons has.

Done Deal - Smith in permanently from Swindon

The interest Pompey retained in Smith, with him 'in our sights' has resulted in him returning to the Blues on a permanent basis after signing for an 'undisclosed fee' from Swindon.

Cushioning the blow

Much, that needed saying, about Webster's exit for Ipswich and the arrival of Clarke in return (and cash) has been said hasn't it? Doyle's been spot on with what he said.

Swindon striker in 'Pompey's sights'

Michel Smith, who was of course on loan last season, could return? He's still in 'Pompey's sights' by all accounts after Swindon informed him he's 'surplus to requirements' now.
