You voted 'two good strikers'

Pompey to sign two good strikers before we kick off the season! Not my vote, yours - although I too believe we will eventually sign two good - or better - strikers.

So, overall it appears that the majority remain confident that before the season gets underway we will add the two strikers Harry Redknapp wants, be this 'good strikers', or 'two cheap' ones - either way we mostly feel we will achieve our aim.

What the poll asked - How many new strikers will we sign before the season starts?

How you voted - Two good strikers 58%, Two cheap (well, what would you expect) 10%, One cheap one - still not much better 7%, Drogba and Torres 7%, None - we won't splash the cash 6%, One good 'un (not Harewood!) 6%, 3 or more 6%

Current Poll - Sulley Muntari had recently been told by Redknapp to 'clean up his act', he then himself vowed to reduce the number of cards he picked up. The Italian game is much different to the English one, so how 'dirty' he really is remains unsure though.

But if he could get a 'job done' on someone this season - fairly of course! - who would you want it to be on? Tantona asks the question in his poll - 'Which player would you most like to see man-marked by Sulley 'Mick Kennedy' Muntari next season?' Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.

well it seems that one of them wont be Nugent, he has been told to report back for training. I just heard on radio that his manager was asked if he was likely to be moving or trainingand was quoted as saying " i think he is likely to be training, he really had his heart set on Everton" however Everton do not appear that intrested

If he ain't that interested, remove the option. Why would we sign a player who doesn't want to wear the shirt? Having said that, no-one really knows what's really going on, so I guess we'll have to see what happens.

I said earlier in the week that I didn't think he would sign(wants to be a Toffee too much) I hope i'm wrong, but not looking too good is it? Surely it would be better to spend that kind of money on someone who wouldn't have one eye a move away, at the first chance! Why does Nugent have these talks with clubs onnl to then not answer his phone?...some kind of fetish?!?!

Someone at the club, Peter Storrie, needs to make a statement about the situation, after all we have paid for our season tickets and should be kept informed of what is going on, by tonight we will be linked with Bellamy and Crouch and tomorrow Harewood and Camara. If players do not want to sign let them go, if Nugent is stalling for Everton let him go to ther,e i dont know what he will get there, apart from one season of European Soccer where they will be knocked out early, and his England career will stall like Johnsons has.

I said a few days ago Nugent wants Everton & may force Preston to sell him on the cheap to them or end up with a very****ed off player who won't do them any favours next season.

good point Owenspompey - something official needs to be said... if nugent wants to sign he will, if he doesn't he should stop buggering us around and say so! everton wont pay what preston want, we are offering acceptable money - as did sunderland - so when is he going to get it into his head that everton wont so he should also stop buggering preston around and show them some respect, as afterall they pay his wages! all said tho we dont want him here if he does not want to be here so we... preston will happily wait until next summer if needed and still probably pick up around £3.5m when a tribunal decides the fee. he may not be happy next season but if he wants a move to everton next summer he will have to earn it so preston will benefit anyway... glad bellamy has gone to newcastle or west ham - if he has at all, im still not sure he has? - as i was not too keen on seeing him here...

You might joke about Fowler but that would be one of Harrys options wouldnt it. Will he turn to Harewood and Zamora now, or are there other strikers we have not thought of yet? We start next Saturday and we will need to have strikers in place. Collins John was being talked about last night in Pompey. please no, also Bouazza was seen in the area, could he be snuck into the club, if he brought Marlon King that would be a bit better.

We are just leaving it very late Matt, and we will be left with the players that are available, and other teams wont touch lets hope this has been a smokescreen and the deals will be done. Or am i just being naive ?
