You voted 'go to watch Pompey'

Go to Fratton and watch Pompey over watching Hampshire at Lords - and others options! Not my vote, yours - although these findings from the Rabbi's poll are thoughts I completely share.

The majority that voted were of the vote that watching Pompey take on Bolton at Fratton - from the options that you had - would be what they would rather do on August 18th.

Hampshire go to Lords on this day but it is little surprise that most would chose to got to Fratton to watch Pompey. I will be very interested to know how Hampshire go, but personally would chose Pompey over them almost every time.

What the poll asked - On Aug 18th Hampshire play at Lords, Pompey play Bolton (h). What would you prefer to do?

How you voted - go to Fratton and watch Pompey 76%, go to Lords and watch Hampshire 12%, do some DIY 7%, go shopping with the missus 2%, stay indoors 2%, i'd rather not say 1%

Current Poll - Strikers are leaving - or will be leaving - but none are arriving just yet, but hopefully this is getting close?

Harry Redknapp has been looking for at least two strikers all summer, but recently said he would maybe have to limited this to just 'one good 'un', but what do you think is most likely? pompeycarpet's poll asks - 'How many new strikers will we sign before the season starts?' Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.

A pretty obvious outcome, although having Bolton as the away team might have had a few thinking hard about it!

Pointless poll. How about the next poll, my favourite defeat?

:) tip of the cap to you Et_tu_Pompeii and fair is fair... i sort of saw that coming - hopefully tho this will be the end of the 'pointless poll' matter... how many would really choose hampshire over pompey tho given the choice? nothing against hampshire or cricket, or held against you if you would - but my thinking is most of the votes for this would have come from fans of clubs other than pompey?

Lol at your next poll!! Im sure that you will have Drogba and Torres at the start of the season. Shouldnt cost too much. Who do you lot want (realistically) anyway?

Nugent and another, be that defoe, Attack Attack Attack Ataker, or Yak im not fussed. I hear Crouch is moving on too, so he'll do as the other.

It's a laugh isn't it. At the moment, I'm happy with Nugent and one other. The 'other' is from a long list inc; Utaka, Colautti, Fabiano, Pazzini etc.

New Poll: We have not yet signed a striker - How are you reacting to this? 1. Pass me the respirator, there's only 8 weeks left! 2. Harry must be gutless or lazy - cmon Sascha make a 15m offer for somebody (anybody!)! 3. I am gonna flog this issue on every slow news day. 4. I am not panicking until we see the market move a little - Harry is bound to be working on something. 5. Are you joking? We still have Kanu, Benji, LuaLua and Andy Cole!

A poll on the silliest polls. 1) Graham. 2) Best defeat. 3) Buy a scummer. 4) Pompey or Cricket. 5) Buy a striker or another defender. 6) Europe or relegation.

I am sensing that people are not voting in utter seriousness. thefact that 13% of people actualy think that Drogba and torres will be playing for us next season is a undubtedly clear. Equally, two good strikers is clearly what people WANT to happen, but i feel that two cheap or one good 'un are much more likely.

pompeycarpet your senses are right mate - but what can you do... the only solution would be not to run polls but i would not want to see this the case, even if others maybe would? on the whole tho true feelings generally show through dont they...

Sincere apologies, no offence meant. Some polls are very good, a few aint. Keep up the good work, daftness no out of my system. Play up Pompey Vital.

I agree with Rug, the true opinions and feelings tend to show through. So I think the best polls are those gauging peoples' feelings either way about a certain topic... what I mean is that asking questions like how many strikers will we sign (1,2,3,or 4) is not a good poll as nobody actually knows this answer or really cares how many % of people think 1 2 or 3 unless the only respondents were Arry, Storrie and Sascha. A better type of question would be 'which of the following players would you most like' or 'should we sign XYZ player'. But I also agree the worst poll of all time is definately Graham (just beating Pol Pot into second place).

thanks for the input fellas - and this is meant, no sarcasum or nothing... its this poxy silly season, it does crazy things to us all - we just want something to happen dont we :) im big enough and far, far ugly enough :) to take whatever is thrown at me - even if i do occassionally take it to heart, terrible problem i have - but it is when others have put forward ideas or suggestions that i tend to go on the defensive more, but for their benefit really as i dont want people to think their opinion or ideas aren't worthwhile as they are - we dont always agree but i dont want people put off the idea of putting forward things... know what i mean fellas?

storagematt and Liquor&Poker, here is a challenge for you if you are up for it? i still have a few poll ideas that have been suggested lined up for use but how do you fancy putting forward ideas of your own? poll or even article... you know you want to :)

ah yes, theres the thing...at least i tried to put forward a poll - even if the outcome was neither good, nor worthwhile. However, hopefully, my inadequate poll will inspie some other people to put in more worthwhile ideas, rather than just sit, and comment.

nothing is inadequate or worthless - opinions just differ... it takes more balls than people might think to put forward an idea, so i applaud those that do - and in time people will be clamering up to do so :)

Polls are always an enjoyable way to pass a bit of time, even if some may seem more worthwhile than others. Anything that triggers a bit of conversation /debate and opinion sharing can only be a good thing in the long run.

Yes, my above ideas on what might make a poll better maybe were a little harsh... think of them more as an obsevation not a criticism. Kudos to all who submit and get a bit of discussion going. Cool, I shall suggest something then Rug.
