What happened on Monday with Pompey and the media? Lets take a look.
Yakubu is destined for City if Sven gets his way. The Mirror reported that City would pay £12million for him - £4million more than we would apparently - to 'seal the deal'. As a result Harry Redknapp's attention will be turned fully to Jermain Defoe with an £8million bid primed.
According to The News, Nigerian international John Utaka claims he is 'on his way' - but the same report also claimed that Utaka was looking forward to playing alongside Kanu! So, how old were the quotes that were used? This was covered in full on Vital Pompey in this article Utaka claims he is on his way.
With Svetoslav Todorov's agent confirming his exit over the weekend the Mirror claimed a move to Leicester, to reunite with Milan Mandaric could be close - no surprises here then. On the subject of Leicester our pre season meeting on August 4th will now be an all ticket match.
The thing that really caught my eye was the varying news surrounding David Nugent.
Various papers said he would decide where he goes - if he even goes at all with the BBC reporting that Sunderland had withdrawn their offer, better still though the late breaking news from sky sports news that he will arrive for talks with Pompey on Tuesday! This too was covered late in the day by Vital Pompey in this article Harry to chat up Nugent.
Apparently Everton wont pay anymore than £4million and are reported to be turning attentions to Alan Smith, Sunderland have now withdrawn their offer so this could leave the door wide open for Pompey? Nugent is reported as being keen on Everton - but maybe, just maybe there could be something here for us after all with the England international?
One of the Vital Pompey team - paultsmouth - suggested that Redknapp could be playing it 'cute' by putting up smokescreens with his thoughts on both Nugent and Defoe - maybe this could indeed be the case.
