You say 'we want Defoe at Pompey'

You say 'we want Defoe at Pompey'

Jermain Defoe is the man we want at Pompey! Not my view, yours - although these findings from Sachas_Brother's poll are thoughts I also share, although to a degree I am not fussy!

The majority that voted are of the opinion that England international Defoe is the right man - from the names on offer - and the man they most want to arrive.

Yakubu trailed some way behind as Fredi Kanoute lagged even further back - but this could have had as much to do with his weekend thoughts that he now wants to stay with Sevilla after all as anything else.

How you voted - defoe 61%, the Yak 26%, kanoute 13%

Current Poll - Martin Cranie became the latest in a small band to make the move from one south coast rival to another - a common occurrence from Pompey to the red half in recent years, not so much the other way - but is there anyone else from down the road you would not mind joining him?

Cranie's arrival will not be met with approval from all quarters but so long as he does the business on the pitch were he came from is almost irrelevant - that is my thinking anyway.

But do our neighbours have anyone else that you would not mind us nabbing, this is what Et_tu_Pompeii asks in his poll - 'Having bought Cranie from that lot down the road, what other player would you buy?' Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.

PLAY UP POMPEY!

If & it is a massive if, it would raise our profile up a few more notches. Would love him here, hoped we would get him when he left WH but as with Carrick the lure of London & a big club like Spurs is hard to compete with.

never heard of any of the playors in the new poll...but mareks record of 10 goals in 11 apearanes suggeses he knows where the goal is... I would actualy prefer Yak to Defoe, but thats just picky, as i dont think we will get either any more. Im just intrsted as to who we WILL get...

In fairness to Midge though Pompeyrug, he did say Wednesday and we ought to give him until late this evening to reveal his sources. It is a good warning to everyone else though that unless they can back up their claims then they ought to keep them to themselves.

it was not a dig at Midge at all TPB - merely a reminder that i look forward to hearing what he had to say about it sometime today...
