Pompey likely lads? Roberto Colautti

Pompey are being 'linked' with strikers all over the shop, so lets take a look at the ones most 'strongly linked' - or so we are being told most strongly linked - in turn. They are not in a preferential order just alphabetical.

Roberto Colautti is an Argentine born striker who has played for the same team as the legendary cheat Maradona did during his time - Boca Juniors.

Since 2004 he has been playing for the Israeli side Pompey signed Yakubu from - Maccabi Haifa - and has an impressive record! 32 goals in 58 games is pretty good in anybodies book - Yakubu's was 24 in 36, so not as prolific but still impressive.

Colautti is now an Israeli international - gaining citizenship by marring his Israeli girlfriend - scoring almost a goal per game for them, so again an impressive strike rate on the international stage too.

The Israeli league is different to the Premier but you do not get too many mugs over there either, so we cannot underestimate the level he plays at too much. Maccabi are regulars in Europe, so he has experience on this stage as well.

A fee of around £2million has been mentioned for the 25-year old - said to have 'all the features of an outstanding striker'. Reportedly 'quick', has a 'golden head' and most importantly is a 'talented scorer', so this could be money well spent with youth still favouring him.

He sounds good on paper and on this basis he could be a very good signing at an almost 'nothing to lose' price, so I would not mind him arriving in the slightest.

Colautti appears the rank outside but is one that I would most like to see arrive, although I have not seen the fella play, so my personal thinking would be a 2 on a rating out of 5 chance he will sign.

Next under the microscope will be Jermain Defoe.

I agree with all this... any vids of him lying around the net anywhere? I'll have a look.
Liquor&Poker
Search him up on youtube.

One of my favourites, this guy, and as PompeyRug says, at that price he's got to be worth a go. Looks good on Youtube too. And, no-one else has been linked with him to my knowledge. Go get him Hal.

I was wiondering if the fact that it has all gone quiet on this one, maybe that makes it the most favourite to happen. I would like to see this guy along side Yak or Kanoute, not sure he could play alongside defoe.

Maybe good value for the money but would want another top striker. We are short of options here.

well if Midge is right we could be signing defoe and zamora by wed so that wont be too bad will it? i am fascinated to see if this comes if - if so, how he knww? i reckon he is actually defoe putting comments on here himself, this is how he knows :) colautti could be an excellent signing tho, if we dont get him no doubt we will hear this name again - and maybe at our cost?
