Vote for David James NOW!

Vote for David James NOW!

Previously Vital Pompey has called for your help - if you believed it, which in all cases it was not true we will all admit - in making David James - goalkeeper, Linvoy Primus - defender and Harry Redknapp - manger of the year in sky sports polls.

A second nomination for David James sees him become the latest Pompey personality in the running for another award - the best buy of the year. This is what Tom Adams said on skysports.com on his nomination.

'Signed from Manchester City for just £1.2million last summer, Portsmouth's keeper inspired confidence throughout his side as they almost clinched a place in Europe. At times boasting a Clark Kent-esque side-parting, James produced some super-human performances as he played in every game of the season and broke David Seaman's Premier League record for clean sheets. It was, furthermore, an absolute scandal that the evergreen James was not afforded the same luxury as David Beckham and recalled to the England squad'.

As previously said it has been wonderful to see Pompey gain recognition from sky; this shows just how much we have improved in a year.

James will not win the signing of the year - and rightly so, even though in our eyes he would be - and is currently, but certainly wrongly, only just ahead of Jonathan Woodgate, who trails the field. Dimitar Berbatov is well out in front.

To help James gain more of the vote, if you feel he is the right man visit this link and vote.

By the way exciting times already. When was the last time you could buy any Pompey product on a site like HMV.co.uk? The new end of season DVD is out on Monday for £9.99 post free. Hopefully it will be better than last years which on the DVD extras menu spelt our great clubs name, 'Pompy'. Unforgiveable.

tip of the cap mate, reg certainly is a legend - how can you not like him... yep, jamo too is a legend. i am so glad we signed him when we did - even tho i was a little uncertain at first tbh, but this just shows how reputations can be held against players unfairly until they play for you...

Done Deal - Smith in permanently from Swindon

The interest Pompey retained in Smith, with him 'in our sights' has resulted in him returning to the Blues on a permanent basis after signing for an 'undisclosed fee' from Swindon.

Cushioning the blow

Much, that needed saying, about Webster's exit for Ipswich and the arrival of Clarke in return (and cash) has been said hasn't it? Doyle's been spot on with what he said.

Swindon striker in 'Pompey's sights'

Michel Smith, who was of course on loan last season, could return? He's still in 'Pompey's sights' by all accounts after Swindon informed him he's 'surplus to requirements' now.
