'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Redknapp bites back

Harry Redknapp has spoken of his 'anger' and 'disappointment' - in the People Sport - of the way the Lord Stevens bung probe has been handled by the media.

'Why am I always linked to it all?

'There are a couple of big deals involving Chelsea that have been named in the report, but I don't see pictures of Jose Mourinho in the papers.

'This has been a total waste of the Premier League's money and if this is all they can come up with then what a waste of time.

'What has been worthwhile about it? What have they achieved? They admit there has been no wrongdoing?

'I find it strange that there are lot of pictures in the newspapers of me, Sam Allardyce and Graeme Souness.

'In my view, one of the reasons these deals haven't been cleared is because not all the agents have co-operated - it has nothing to do with the managers.'

Redknapp's 'wheeler dealer' tag has often seen him branded as one of the 'dodgy dealers' in the game and although he may not be a saint - yep, I know he was during his moment of madness! - you can understand why he is unhappy, what's that saying 'throw enough mud and some sticks,' which it does with Redknapp.

Repetitive dealings with some of the agents in question has not really done him too many favours, so hopefully from now on some of these characters can be avoided - if they will even be able to have football dealings again? I am not sure what will happen with these agents?

I think most people know certain 'discrepancies' go on within football, as they do in all walks of life, but what has this £1.3million enquiry really showed up - was it indeed worth it?

To justify the ridiculous expense of their salaries.
storagematt
Yep, they had to find something and Harry is an easy target.
Et_tu_Pompeii
Truth hurts sometimes. Journalists aren't the only ones on big salaries with a taste for cash.

'arry is no angel is he but at the same time it is unfair for him - and you can argue some others, to be fair - to be singled out time and time again...
pompeyrug
HR makes a good point why arent there pictures of Jose?
Sachas_Brother
chelski were able to pay off the tabloids to keep jose out of the papers :) the fact that 'arry is an 'easy target' makes it easier for them to print images of him - and the others - instead doesn't it...
pompeyrug
Papers need to sell but give over will you, pompey are involved in 4 of the 17 suspect transfers, probably innocent but neither the club nor Harry do anything to help themselves, they continually uses the same agents who are criticised the football world over, then on top of that Harry lets one of them buy him a blo0dy race horse, then our Harry acts like he hadnt noticed.......OOH A RACE HORSE WITH MY NAME ON who put that there !!!! where did that come from???? and who's this bloke Silkman everybody is on about, THINK NOT PEOPLE. Really WHAT ARE YOU EXPECTING. stop whingeing for christ sake. Lay with dogs you get fleas ( refer to previous magalluf / virus comment) Harry should shut up and concentrate on buying a striker, Preferably not from some one called McKAY OR SILKMAN.

using the lords name in vein on a sunday of all days, how could you russell... you and your laying with dogs - does this happen often :)
pompeyrug
LoL not often enough just lately, seriously i know i am agfainst the crowd here but understand that the game DOES actually need agents, but i am (like you must be) fed up with the continual off the pitch problems that affect our club. Harry cant moan then continue to the status quo or "whatever you want".
russellm
i just dont want the club to dragged down down deeper n down

i want us to be fly in Europe and not on a paper plane

Meanwhile, lots of victims of youth knife crime scatter the streets.
