Kanu deal under suspicion

Kanu deal under suspicion

As details emerge from Lord Stevens` report, managers and players may just be getting a little hot under the collar after the Daily Express have run a story saying that 'FA bung investigators believe they are on the verge of a breakthrough after probing the transfer of Kanu.'

Apparently, the FA are looking into the transfer of Kanu from Arsenal to West Bromwich Albion, so at least it is not focusing on us. This could also go to some way in explaining why Pompey were mentioned as one of the five clubs who were specifically named today.

According to the Express, the report 'contains "100 lever-arch files" containing a huge amount of evidence of a multitude of rule breaches involving 17 transfers, six clubs and eight agents.'

Personally I feel that as always, certain clubs will be the subject of journalistic witch hunts and we will be one of those that are to be hunted. Odd that the media can be so full of themselves when Sky Sports have just short-listed Harry Redknapp as their Manager of the Year.

The report and the recommendations can be downloaded for free in pdf format from www.quest.co.uk

Maybe some of these rules that have been 'broken' need reviewing. Well at least it takes the mind of Iraq, missing children, knife & gun crime, speed cameras, illegal immigrants...

I dont think so TPB why arent Arsenal and westbrom named. I think it is more to do with slippery silkman or willie the crim mckay people with whome we as a club have far to many dealings with. The reality is we dont/ didnt run our club in the best possible manner so the club and by association the manager are open to criticism again.

CharlieChimes, you are a man of many talents - you even entertain us with 'jokes' :) too many of these agents are slippery buggers, dealing with them - the people russell mentions - too often is not helping our case, much like russell says... despite it obviously being better to mainly 'stick to what you know' - sometimes the devil you know is exactly that...

How will this affect the nonsence with Kanu and the 2 year deal saga, I wonder?

As a matter of interest, where has all this 'Hate Pompey' stuff come from, historically I mean, I know Bug*erlugs and his mates hate us and the press to a certainextent, but over the years - what is the reason?

Doncaster's winless run went on but they remain three points ahead of Plymouth. Carlisle are a further two points back. Leyton Orient and Newport hold the unwanted relegation places.

Video - Barnet 1-1 Pompey

A late Barnet goal looked as though it would end Pompey's unbeaten run but Conor Chaplin proved the saviour when he scored a last minute equaliser to earn a point in a 1-1 draw.
