Vote for Harry Redknapp NOW!

Vote for Harry Redknapp NOW!

Previously TruePompeyBlue called for you to help make David James the SKY Sports goalkeeper of the year - sadly this failed. I then called for you to help make Linvoy Primus - or Optimus Primus as I more affectionately name him - defender of the year, again this unfortunately - but clearly more acceptably - failed.

Now Redknapp completes a hat trick of Pompey personalities in the running for awards, this is what Tom Adams said on his nomination.

'A bit of trademark wheeling and dealing was the foundation for a tremendous season for Redknapp at Portsmouth. The bargain signings of Sol Campbell, David James and Kanu proved to be an instant success as Pompey even topped the Premiership in September - a marked difference to their struggles the previous season. Although the South Coast side suffered a dip in form in the second half of the campaign, only a dodgy offside decision on the final day of the season cost them a place in Europe for the first time since 'Nelson invaded somewhere or other', according to their engaging boss'.

It has been excellent to see Pompey gain recognition from SKY; this shows just how much we have improved in a year.

Redknapp will not win manager of the year - and rightly so, had we made it into the Uefa cup instead of just missing out this could have been different - but is currently, though most importantly wrongly, languishing at the back of the field with David Moyes streets in front.

Since the blue scousers managed to vote for Arteta as best midfield player ahead of Ronaldo, you can see the power of the home vote. The fact we have 3 nominees is fantastic credit to Pompey.

I will vote for H Pompeyrug but a problem for me is apart from persuading Sol & Jamo to join i cant see a category where Harry was better than little Stevie Coppel WOOOOOOh Controversial

could not agree more fellas coppell has been the manager of the season even tho the blue scousers are doing their best to do what they do best - steal something - by voting moyes the top man... it is totally wrong that arteta won the midfielders vote, ronaldo - as much as i do not like the fella - should have been the clear winner... totally agree storagematt, to have 3 nominees and such recognition from sky is excellent for pompey... keeper and defender are quite possible again next season - midfield also a chance, get someone in that can score and maybe we could have a full house when 'arry guides us to uefa cup football too :)

Whoa there! Coppel has been good but I'm fed up of one season wonders becoming the next English messiah to grace the Premiership. Micky Adams, the Crystal Palace bloke, Paul Jewell were all considered amazing until they showed themselves to be average (that's good in the Prem but no better than Chris Coleman, Dave Beasant, Trevor Francis blah, blah, blah). Coppell looks good, has served his time but I don't think a manager can be rated after one season in the Prem. Graham Souness took Blackburn to sixth but no one would put him in charge of a golf buggy

fair enough Pompeyscum, but the point here is manager of the season for the 2006/07 - not what they will next season, what they have done in preivous seasons, the 2006/07 season... on this basis - for taking a championship side to the brink of europe with mostly the same players there should only be one winner... tho coppell is hardly a one season wonder anyway is he really...

Ouch, shot down in flames. Okay, but if was Simon Cowell I would say that he lacked the charisma to be named Manager of the Season. I want the complete package

HR gets my vote without a doubt, but if I had to vote for another it would be Ferguson - not because I like him, but because it is infact the opposite, but he did ensure Chelsea didnt win the title again and I hate them more.........

Should Portsmouth progress through to an FA Cup quarter final from the 2016/17 season onwards, the game will no longer be subject to a replay.

Chesterfield's O'Shea targeted

Although so far Pompey have had two bids turned down for Chesterfield's O'Shea. Will, assuming another bid (as it's expected) is made, it be third time luck for the Blues?

It wasn't Real Madrid but Bristol City isn't bad!

Contrary to what I just wrote (muppet that I am) this isn't at Fratton this is at Ashton Gate with Pompey heading to Bristol City on Saturday 30th July, with a 3pm kick-off.
