Pompey in for Lee Cook?

Pompey in for Lee Cook?

SKY Sports are reporting that Pompey have entered the race to sign the much-coveted QPR winger Lee Cook.

QPR chairman, Gianni Paladini, told The Mirror that he remains confident that the club can retain the 'in-demand' winger - despite reported interest from Spurs, City, Villa, Fulham and now apparently Pompey.

'Every time I speak to Lee he insists he's happy here.'

Paladini slapped a £5million price tag on the talented wingers head recently - and it is believed Fulham tabled a £1.9million bid last week, that was rejected.

Claims are that Harry Redknapp is yet to make his interest 'public' but Pompey have already offered £2million - clearly this would be a clincher as QPR were only holding out for £100,000 more!

There seems to be a common theme with the 'reported' Pompey targets, they are midfielders or even wingers - who Redknapp has said he would like - but our squad is positively bursting at the seams with midfielders, out and out wingers maybe not so, but without strikers to finish these created chances they will not be much use anyway.

PLAY UP POMPEY!

Sounds pretty good to me! you need compatition in all areas, this would give Gary O a little boot up the ass, not that I can fault his effort level!! Does anyone know how good this kid is??

Don't know much about him, a winger is an obvious need for Pompey, £5M is laughable though

Would be nice to have a right winger again - a good one anyway. We've had a few dodgy ones in recent years and as ChCh says it will do GON good.

my mate Al who can be heard sobbing his way home from Loftus road on a weekly basis reckons he is there best and only real future prospect. I think he would be a good signing for the reasons given by charlie chimes and i remember when GOn did get injured then we seemed to lose a bit without a dedicated winger. we cant moan about not having bright young things if we are not willing to invest, this is not something thast we even come up for debate in the Arse or manu's of this world. So i say think big and invest in the future , maybe a take it or leave it £2.5m.
