'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Anelka to Pompey, whatever next!

The Daily Star - come on fellas it must be true, what a paper - claim that Harry Redknapp is preparing a fresh bid for Nicolas Anelka! Unless I have been caught in a time warp was this not the case a year ago, surely this could not happen now if it did not then?

Anelka has been hankering for a move to a team in the top four but with him already having a 'history' with two of them and the other two unlikely to move for him - although it is claimed United could be in the market for him - this is something that can be almost completely ruled out, he has also said that he is happy to stay with Bolton, if this means anything!

I really wanted Anelka to arrive last summer - and actually thought for a brief moment that he would. The reasons he would come to us now would be for the extra money - maybe - and the realisation that we are in actual fact going somewhere, with Bolton quite possibly looking like going in the other direction now?

Silly season is well and truly in full swing with this latest claim though is it not - could anyone really see Anelka signing now?

PLAY UP POMPEY!

i wanted - and thought - we might have got him last summer, but we have little or no chance of signing him now do we? not that i would not want this tho… even if we could sign le sulk he does not exactly have a history of hanging around with clubs for that long does he…
pompeyrug
Maybe he could form that 'Special Relationship' with HR and want to stick around for a few years - stranger things have happened. Benjani and Anelka, what d'ya think?
Et_tu_Pompeii
Not the kind of striker we need, there must be better options.
bluedr
Sorry, Dis-agree. I would still have him.
Midge
Rather have him than not. Shame we didn't him last summer. No chance if Man U want him. Football can be a funny monster & 'if' came he wouldn't stay long either.
storagematt
One season disruption to the harmony in the squad? No thanks.
Tantona
there are not really that many better options than anelka around are there bluedr? he will score goals and create others - benjani and anelka i like the sound of that...

Just seen this on a forum on the BBC sport Website................. Anelka seen entering Fratton Park Premiership | Portsmouth by CrockyMUFC 07 June 2007 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I live in Frogmore road which is literally next to Fratton Park and I have just seen Nicolas Anelka get out of a silver Mercedes and walk into there ground. Hes a big guy! Peter Storrie met him at the door...cud be interesting? Surely not?

Now dont get me wrong, I love harry for what hes done but hes starting to annoy me with his money. He never seems to spend it. Yes, 7 million for sulley and all but think about it. How many times has he quated that there asking to much. Jesus. too much for the yak was the lastest one but if sacha is a so called millionare then he can pay 10 - 15 million and that counts for defoe. I also am gettin annoyed with him trying to bring in crazy italians and french. SPLASH THE CASH FOR A CHANGE AND ON A PROVEN PREMIERSHIP STRIKER Aka. YAKUBU, DEFOE, ASHTON, SMITH, and so on. Ps. I love you harry!

dkm316_246, if that is indeed true then the chances of an anelka deal could well prove true afterall... i would like to see him here but just cannot see it happening - can you? i hope i am wrong of course...
pompeyrug
PompeyGleamer, the money needs to be spent wisely mate doesn't it... it is still early days in the summer but i would think our transfers will be sorted by the end of this month, middle of July at the latest - no doubt 'arry will pick up a few as the deadline looms tho...
