'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pompey Chimes (2)

The tabloids continue to link Pompey with players, most notably big money moves for Rennes striker John Utaka - a 22 year old Nigerian international with a £5.7 million price tag - and Lyon midfielder Alou Diarra - a 25 year old French international midfielder, previously with Liverpool for £4.5 million. Harry Redknapp is said to have 'admitted his interest in both.'

Arnold Mvuemba - who I must say really impressed me during his loan with the club this season - is again mentioned, with Pompey still looking to tie up a deal 'if the price is right.' Other names with Pompey in the same breath were former captain Arjan De Zeeuw and Watford winger Hameur Bouazza.

The one thing in the tabloids that caught my eye the most though has to be Pompey chief exec Peter Storrie telling us through the News 'not to panic' as we have nothing to worry about with regards to the Sulley Muntari deal. A 5-year deal has been agreed for a club record £7million. He has made us all rest easy with his words.

'It's still ongoing, but we're very hopeful of concluding it. He's a very good player.

'It's just fine-tuning. The negotiations have been long, but they should be done during the second half of the week.'

I am glad Storrie has put my mind at rest.

With West Brom now not gaining promotion, should we be interested in Jason Koumas? I'm sure this link will appear on the newswire's soon.

Storrie gets paid to tell us what he is told to say. Sometimes he has to speak politican talk & sometimes the truth.
