Pompey are lining up bids for several players in the coming days and weeks, so it is said - although the move for Sulley Muntari, which would involve our transfer record being smashed into pieces has been ongoing for a while.
Muntari turned out in the weekends charity match organised by Kanu, which further raised expectations that the Ghanaian international will be a Pompey player sooner rather than later. The player's agent is keen, Muntari is keen - he told he Portsmouth News that he has been 'a Pompey fan for a year' and so is Harry Redknapp so all being well this will be concluded soon.
Sylvain Distin and Titus Bramble are both free agents having left Man City and Newcastle respectively and are being heavily linked with Pompey, Bramble being seen as a 'good free transfer signing' by Redknapp. Distin has been a target of Redknapp's since last summer and is likely to arrive shortly.
Young Trinidad & Tobago midfield trio Lester Peltier, Khaleem Hyland and Atullah Guerra have been offered deals by Pompey but work permits are required - we should know one way or the other by next month.
Players will be leaving Pompey though, some I will lose no sleep over, others I certainly would. Andy O'Brien and Collins Mbesuma - how is this guy still contracted to Pompey, have been told they can leave, this does not worry me at all, whilst young star Marc Wilson could go unless he signs the new deal he has been offered - hopefully he will sign it as we do not want another talented youngster moving on too soon.
My major worry is Sol Campbell, Newcastle are being linked more and more and although Redknapp and Pompey are adamant he will not be going anywhere the imminent arrivals of Distin and Bramble are not filling me with too much confidence that we will see him here next season. If they arrived and Sol stayed I would be more than happy - maybe Bramble could even be made into a half decent footballer? If we could keep Sol but it meant that we would miss out on both would this really be so bad? I am not overly convinced by Distin to be honest and we know about Bramble all to well.
Whatever happens Vital Pompey will look to keep you informed.

As for Sol - I wouldn't worry too much on that score, the Club have already said he is going nowhere. Don't think I'll shed any tears for AOB going though. Has anyone heard if Kanu was able to renew his contract yet?
