James signs new deal!

James signs new deal!

Harry Redknapp has made an excellent start to an important weekend with an extension to David James' contract. James, who should be representing England in goal if it was not for the stupidity and stubbornness of Steve McClaren, signed a new contract on Friday evening that will keep him at Portsmouth until 2009.

On Sunday, he will be keeping goal for Pompey as they attempt to beat Arsenal for the first time in the Premiership and will be hoping that Reading and Bolton drop points - if that proves to be the case, Pompey will finish the season in 7th place and in the UEFA cup for the first time in their history.

his errors have cost us 6 points over the season but his average performances alone have probably won us double that,so good news in a down beat week. I guess that means that the Jaskelinen rumour is off the mark

The Jaaskeleinen was linked last year along with Schwarzer and Dudek, but Redknapp got the right man

Apparently we've got - or will get Mark Viduka on a free when his Boro contract ends...

viduka would be in the right bracket for us, no fee, big wages and bags of experience, he is also worth about 15 goals of he stays fit

Russell - his errors have cost us 6 points over the season ? Whilst I generally agree with you on virtually all your comments, I still do with this one - but I feel that if all he has cost us is 6 points this season then I am more than happy with that. How many points has he saved us during the last nine months, I bet we owe him tremendously?

For me, the players who have cost us more points are the likes of Kanu and Cole, or in fact our entire strike force. Without the midfield socring, we would have been in serious problems and playing our last game tomorrow in the Prem. Thankfully Harry appears to have addressed that, with the news that Mark Viduka is coming to FP next season - if only he can bring the Yak with him!

Finest in the Football League

I don't hide how highly I rate Chaplin. I feel he's the best striker in league two - better than most in league one. Cook said he is the best goalscorer outside the Premier League.
