Campbell to Magpies? PAH!!

The rumour mill is spinning like a beauty as players contracts come up for renewal and underperforming clubs look to bolster their squads.
Sol is now considering travelling to Newcastle, I suppose he would really, the Magpies flatter to decieve nearly every season, yet still they are considered a much better proposition than lowly Pompey (8th at the moment)
Look out for Matt Taylor for Spurs and O'Neil to Liverpool, David James will no doubt be off to Birmingham and Kanu will go to Sunderland, while any underperforming, over-paid ex-superstar will be on the way to Fratton, see you soon Lungberg

I suppose we should be priveliged that he graced us for one season, if this move happens I want Owen plus cash in return
paultsmouth
would be nice if he stayed loyal to Harry, who to be fair picked him when knowone else wanted him, including Newcastle. I suppose any moves by Newcastle will greatly depend on weather Roeder stays as manager. If Big Sam gets the job he may prefer Tal ben Haim who will be available on a free from bolton and command less in wages.

He's on his way! You know it makes sense Pompey boys. Give it a couple more seasons and it'll be 60,000 in the ground. Can he really turn that down?
Roy4Triggs
Newcastle won't get Campbell because they like spending 10-28 million every season and not get any further than 10th.
Lysimachus
Don't tell me a swap deal with Tithead Bramble.
storagematt
It would be surprising if he chose to move as he has said quite often he has enjoyed this season and is really looking forward to an exciting future under Gaydamak. Also HR said he had the option of Newcastle last season but chose Pompey. Furthermore he has a year of contract left and I doubt that Pompey would be keen to sell their influential, big name player who has been in superb form. Sol isn't also a spoilt brat who would cause trouble if Pompey said they wanted him to see out his contract... so all in all I reckon he'll stay next year, probably longer.

ello ello pompey!!
ajwb
Roy4Triggs yes he can turn it down, he did last season and i'm sure he will again
paultsmouth
nothing would surprise me with pompey but i'm not sure why Sol would want to settle for a permanent relegation battle under Roeder
russellm
We gave him everything a player in his position then, needed and should pledge his loyalty to the club at least for two more seasons
Mudhara
Hm, let me see....Pompey in an excellent position to go into Europe this season (however slight, it's still possible) whilst Newcastle (big tits, small brains, i.e. all look and no ability) manage to just about stave off relegation. Now I wonder where I would sooner be, in a rainy, cold dreary village near Sunderland or a lovely warm place on the south coast with a small boat trip across the water to Europe?

No contest.
TruePompeyBlue
We all want him to stay and grace Europe with us. he is a great player
Mudhara
yep we do, we have to accept that hye feels he owes it to himself to go where it suits him, that is his personality so he may well leave. He says he doesnt want too much pressure so why choose Newcastle,
russellm
Sol will stay with us' he's already said he wants to play for Pompey in the new stadium, only thing is knowing pompey that won't be for at least another 30 or 40 years.
Steve C
...but equally Steve, we know what Harry's like for signing up older and experienced players, so don't write off Sol not being here still in 40 years time, lol!!
TruePompeyBlue
LoL good one lads,
russellm
Nothing that happens with Pompey surprises me so if Sol did leave this summer it would be nothing new... This said though I do think he'll stay, but as for being here when the new satdium opens - if it opens, I wouldn't have thought so... I know Jamo said he wants to be here for this - and can easily see this happening, again if it even happens! But didn't Sol say it would be nice to be here for it but he didn't think he would...
pompeyrug
Think Sol will stay, hope titmus bumble doesnt come this way though.
pompey4me
It's beginning to look more and more like titmus will be coming our way... All we can hope for if he does that with the likes of Sol and Optimus Primus around him, not to mention the quality of Tony Adams - who looks like he will now stay, maybe the potential that he has can finally be realised... The back four he mostly played in with the Toon was pretty farcical most times, maybe they should be renamed the Car-toon...
