Kranjcar & James In Actim Team

KRANJCAR AND JAMES IN ACTIM TEAM

- Portsmouth Pair Named In The Actim Index Team Of The Week -

Niko Kranjcar and David James` overall performances in Portsmouth`s 2-1 victory over Liverpool have seen the pair named in The Actim Index Team of the Week - the Official Player Ratings of the Barclays Premiership.

Record-breaking Portsmouth goalkeeper James is currently ranked 16th in the Index. He claimed an assist against the Reds when his long ball set up Benjani Mwaruwari's opener. Actim Stats reveal that he has kept 11 clean sheets this season, conceding 39 goals. He has also made 247 saves in 3,447 minutes of first team action.

An early substitute for the injured Matthew Taylor on Saturday, Croatia international Kranjcar slotted home his side's second goal of the game to seal another impressive win for Harry Redknapp`s side and maintain their recent good run.

Kranjcar, who is currently ranked 320th, has scored two goals and made two assists in his 1,221 minutes of Premiership football. He has also had 24 shots and made 25 tackles, two clearances, eight interceptions, one block, 11 dribbles, 10 crosses and 165 passes this season.

The Actim Index is calculated using a unique mathematical formula that rates each player`s contribution be it goals, shots, passes, dribbles, tackles, crosses, saves, clearances, blocks, interceptions, time on the pitch or number of points gained by the team with marks deducted for red and yellow cards. Two additional calculations, which take account of player assists and goalkeeper`s clean sheets, have been added for the new season to increase the amount of variables a player is now measured by.

The Actim Index Team of the Week is:

Goalkeeper: David James (Portsmouth)

Defenders: John O'Shea (Manchester United), Sami Hypia (Liverpool), Anton Ferdinand and Lucas Neil (West Ham)

Midfielders: Yossi Benayoun (West Ham), Ryan Giggs (Manchester United), Niko Kranjcar (Portsmouth), Francesc Fabregas (Arsenal)

Strikers: Jason Roberts (Blackburn Rovers), Robbie Keane (Tottenham Hotspur)

The list of the Top 100 players and Top 5 players by position will be available free of charge from the Actim website: www.pa-sport.com/en/products/actim-statistics.html which will be updated during the football season every Tuesday for the Barclays Premiership and every Thursday for The Coca-Cola Championship.

Good to see Jamo closing in on No.1 keeper spot. Only 4 pts behind Readingss. and 16th of all players. Thoroughly deserved. Definitely warrants an England re-call.

when Krunchie understands that every game is a big game and consistency is important i think he will be a regular starter in the Actim, opta and may be even the Pompey first teams.

Apparently we have lost out on Kaboul from Auxerre, french press reports say Pompey wasted time to bid and Spurs have nicked him. LoL no change there then.

Niko is still settling into the English game, he'll be outstanding next season. He has provided some scintillating play this season, though of course he has frustrated us all to hell as well. I am sure we have so much more to see from him.

Nice to see Niko in the team, still looks a little overweight and unfit but will benefit from a good pre-season.

TPB the problem is he is a little bit lazy, but as i said before when he gets consistently good he will be a star, will also probably score the winning goal against england also

Yep, he's lazy Russell but that is partly due to where he was playing his football before. But you have to admit his work rate is improving and he's thinking a lot quicker of late too.

We are starting to see the player we all hoped we would... A full pre-season under him - at the 'Hong Kong Cup' as opposed to the stroll in the park that wouldn't have been a true work out that is the two bob cup, will see him even better next season... WHY didn't we apply for the two bob cup, Paul Merson always said it was the best pre-season he ever had, people like Niko would have benefited massively from this as opposed to a money spinning tournament in Hong Kong...
