Premiership round-up (21-22/04/07)

Pompey gained a point with a 0-0 draw in our latest Barclays Premiership match with Villa at Villa Park, what about the other results.

Saturday, 21/04/07
Bolton 1-3 Reading
An own goal from Nicky Shorey (64) looked like it had handed Bolton victory but a penalty from Kevin Doyle (84) brought Reading level, Doyle's (89) second and Stephen Hunt's (90) injury time strike secured a Reading win that took them back up to 7th.

Charlton 1-1 Sheff Utd
This potential relegation decider failed to bring a winner. Talal El Karkouri (59) gave Charlton the lead but Jon Stead (69) equalised to maintain Sheff Utd's advantage.

Fulham 1-1 Blackburn
Vincenzo Montella (10) gave Fulham the lead which looked like bringing three crucial points but Benni McCarthy (61) denied Lawrie Sanchez his first win as Fulham gaffer.

Liverpool 2-0 Wigan
Liverpool kept Wigan's relegation worries well and truly alive after Dirk Kuyt's (30 & 68) double.

Man Utd 1-1 Middlesbrough
Kieran Richardson (3) gave United and early lead in the Saturday night LIVE SKY Sports match only for Mark Viduka (45) to equalise on half time. Advantage Chelsea was it?

Tottenham 2-2 Arsenal
The Saturday lunchtime LIVE SKY Sports Prem Plus match saw Robbie Keane (30) give Spurs a half time lead. Kolo Toure (64) then Emmanuel Adebayor (78) looked to have given Arsenal the win until Jermaine Jenas (90) rescued Spurs a point deep into injury time.

Watford 1-1 Man City
Darius Vassell (53) gave City the lead only for Tamas Priskin (75) to level. A draw was not enough for Watford as their relegation was confirmed.

West Ham 1-0 Everton
West Ham secured what could turn out be a priceless victory thanks to Bobby Zamora's (13) early effort.

Sunday, 22/04/07
Newcastle 0-0 Chelsea
The Sunday lunchtime LIVE SKY Sports game saw Newcastle and Chelsea play out a goal less draw. Many thought it was advantage Chelsea; if so they just gave it back to United!

i've just heard Alan Ball died last night. he was only 61. tragic. my favourite memory of him was the speech he gave to Pompey fans over the PA before the must win game at Bradford in 1998. he told us to stay off the pitch and keep right behind the team. RIP Alan Ball
