'If It's Football, It's Vital'

3 more signings on route

When Harry Redknapp was gaffer first time around Portsmouth were linked with more players than nearly every other team bar Chelsea.

However with the arrival of Gaydamak’s millions Harry Redknapp in Ipswich Manager Joe Royle's words “is about to start playing fantasy football”

Amongst these three new signings however it looks extremely unlikely that Norwich’s Dean Ashton will be arriving at Fratton Park, the £7m price tag attached to him seems to be scaring off all potential suitors. Its not that we cannot now afford that price Harry Redknapp does not want to get involved in paying over the odds every time.

It looks more likely that three out of four from Tottenham will be joining Portsmouth this week. Noe Parmarot, Pedro Mendes, Michael Brown and Sean Davis are the names in the frame. With the Blues haggling over £200k to secure these players it looks as though they will arrive sooner rather than later to join up with our two most recent additions Emmanuel Olisadebe from Panathinaikos and new £4.1m record signing Benjani Mwaruwari from Auxerre.

With the relegation 6 pointer against Everton this weekend strengthening the squad is of the utmost importance to avoid an unpleasant result.
