Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities - past or present - who have a birthday on this day.

23/1/1983: Brian Howard
23/1/1984: Alex Grant
23/1/1987: Wes Thomas
23/1/1992: Danny East
23/1/1995: Conor Wilkinson

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Brian Howard, Alex Grant, Wes Thomas, Conor Wilkinson, Danny East - the Pompey players from the Blues' past born on this day.

Recall Howard, Grant, Thomas, East and Wilkinson well - not all too fondly in fairness - from their time at Fratton Park in the most recent history. However, I do not think I saw much, if anything of Grant though.

Now onto the games previously played.

Played - 13
Won - 4
Drawn - 6
Lost - 3

I didn't make Oxford - think I was ill - but can claim the couple before that as I was at the FA Cup win over Sunderland in 2010 at Fratton Park. I was also at Fratton for the heavy defeat against Leeds - I am sure we went ahead on that day - in 1999.

What are your memories of Howard, Grant, Thomas, East and/or Wilkinson from their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today - if so what are the memories from them too?

Went to Stamford Bridge in '88 (Thirty years ago) as we grinded out a 0-0 with Chelsea in our one season in the top flight. 1993 and a real slog to beat Brentford & even that was a dodgy penalty. A costly game when you consider we missed automatic promotion by a single goal. 1999 & Leeds took cup revenge for us dumping them out of the cup a few years earlier. 2010 & with my daughter saw the cup win over Sunderland. 2016 was the only home game I missed as a certain girlfriends birthday!
